Hi there
What would you all say is the best website for purchasing typefaces? And should websites that offer free downloads of typefaces that are priced elsewhere not be trusted (I would assume so...and isnt this unethical? correct me if I'm wrong please).
thanks
Catalina

Free fonts that appear elsewhere for sale could be freeware that someone is trying to make $$$ off, or the complete set is offered for a price.
Often free fonts are incomplete - don't have numbers or punctuation. So keep that in mind when downloading. Fine for headings and logos mostly, but be careful with body text.

Myfonts.com is good.

Budafist, I'd be more suspect of a free site offering fonts that are offered elsewhere with a cost. It's far more likely the free site is at fault. Actually I'm suspect of all Freeware fonts (25% don't rip and a higher percentage have rotten outlines at sizes over 100pts).
Also note the license language. Some fonts are free for personal use but once you use it commercially, the fontographer/foundry wants money.
I usually stick with the larger sites that have all foundry info like Myfonts, Fonts.com, Fonthaus, actual Foundry sites (Linotype, ITC, etc.)
