I got some great feedback from GDF members on my current site. I took that info and compiled it along with my own thoughts and needs to come up with a new site design. I presented the new site to my director and she loved it... with a few modifications as always. The problem is, I planed to do the site in CSS - my first one. My director got sooooo excited about the redesign and threw out a very ambitius deadline of Jan 30 for a new launch. I am still learning CSS and it's getting more complicated the deeper I get.

Do I keep going with the CSS lessons, practice, and hope I get it with enough time to rebuild the entire site - or - do I fold and get the site done the way I know how...cough* tables, cough**.

I realy want to do a CSS site. I more or less based the design of the new site on a "css look"

I am scared. What should I do?

I dont know much about CSS books, but a copy of the Lynda video CD might help
I got one on Dreamweaver 8, it has some neat sections on CSS site layout
not exceptionally in depth
but it's a quick and dirty way to get up to speed

Will your director know the difference? I don't think it will mather to her as long as the job gets done to the deadline.

No but I will. I'm sure I can drag that deadline out. Our curent site is not bad and is doing the job. I guess it's more of a challenge and I want to see how this css revolution stacks up to what I am used to. Is that selfish. to learn on company time? I dunno. Are you voting to just use tables and get it over with?
