Is there a standard format size that can used to print on the front and back of a tshirt? Anybody do silkscreening or printshop that might know? Im guessing around 7-9 inches wide to about 5-7 inches high. Thanks!

Guess it kinda depends on the size of the shirt and how much you want to pay.
Your guess sounds a little small. More like 12' x 12' for adult and 10' x 10' for kid but I have seen full front and back imaging done.
Your best bet is to find a local screener and work with him. Get the specs direct from the guy yer going to use.
You also need to ask what file formats, what image formats and resolutions, how many colors, etc. etc.
PrintDriver is a large format digital print dude. His advice/opinions may not apply to the 4color/offset/web world of printing

Yeah, Ive had a dozen or so designs printed onto shirts, but none of them really reached the border of what COULD be printed on the shirt if that makes sense, so yeah Ill ask the screen printer. Thx

I've been printing for a little over a year now and i can tell you the best bet is to keep the overall image no wider than 13 to 14 inches for adult shirts and no wider than 12 for a youth sized shirt. the length is variable depending on howmuch your sizes range seeing as a large or xl shirt is much longer than a small. front or back doesn't matter so much as most shirts are near the same dimensions on the front and back. if you'r looking to make a left chest design try to keep it under 4.5 inches, anything larger looks wierd since it gets too close to the center or too close to the armpit.
hope that was of some assistance

definately, thanks... to date Ive really been sticking with like 9in width to about 6 inch height, just to be nice and tight, etc. I just thought there was maybe a 'standard' size used by screen printers etc. Thanks again,
