LOL, I hope there was a little satire in that?

On a related note I heard a story on NPR about the traditional Japanese Sushi Chefs and thier outrage over the Americanization of their cuisine. Seems us yankees have a knack for that:)

One thing that really caught me by suprise was that they said it could take 6 years of training to learn to correctly use a sushi knife. Man, that's crazy, but on the same token, I compared it to GD. 6 years of praticing a craft to become a professional, it dosen't sound unreasonable.

Also in that 6 years a chef learned about etiquette. And that a sushi shop could loose more customers due to the etiquette of the chef than the quality of the food. Sometimes I wish restaurants here would impliment a similar rule. If your an ass and can't act decent in public, get out! :)

That's wild Pat ... I had heard it took a while but didn't know it was 6 years :)

That was pretty funny. I thought it was real at first...until they said they wore the chopping boards home under their feet...

Except that I do remember hearing that the way the Japanese eat sushi is just the way it's done in the video, with their hands, not with chopsticks like so many do here in the states. I do the pick it up, put the whole thing in my mouth thing too (after dipping it into the soy sauce, which I've usually mixed some wosabi into).

That was a fun video. :)

No, definitely not that much soy sauce. Just a little dip to get the soy sauce and wosabi hit.
