holy computer animation in the beginning there. Dayumm!
lol, rock and a hard place. That's cute.
I haven't actually been watching much Simpsons lately, there was one a while back that seemed way over the top (it was called GI Grunt (http://www.tv.com/the-simpsons/g.i.-annoyed-grunt/episode/842860/summary.html), or something like that)... I thought it was pretty offensive to the troops serving in Iraq.
I guess it's just one of those things where people try to excuse difficult situations by finding humor in them, but it seemed too much like a political statement to me.
Love their old stuff though... it will be interesting to see how the movie goes over.

I just recently started watching a Simpson epi here and there. I'm sure Simpson fans will get a kick out of it :)

Agreed, both of you.
From what I've heard Mynock, this is essentially the end of the Simpsons. They're doing the movie and that's it. IT's about time too... the show has gotten tired, repetative and preachy.
Still, I'd watch this. Hell I watched the Family Guy Stewie movie... and it was crap.
But this definately should have come out a few years ago.

how many years has the show been running? Seems I can barely remember a time before it was on!

Does that include when it started on the Tracey Ullman show?
I know that started in the late 80's. So they've been around for almost 20 years.

No .... 18 years as a series itself ;)
I wasn't sure how long it ran on Tracy Ullman as little clips.

Smithers was black, and how often does a character change race in a show?

Simpsons best seasons? I'd say three to five. Maybe six? After that, the writing soured and they scraped too many barrels. They just ended up licking themselves over and over.
But in their day, the writing was simply awesome, truly innovative and packed with greatness. When the writing tired, they relied too much on visual schlock and/or shock. I don't know if they were trying to match Family Guy on that level, but it never worked. Personally, I think they accomplished much more when they avoided all that.

That's the time frame that Conan O'Brian was writing for them. There is some really great episodes after that, Personally I am waiting for the tomacco episode to come out on DVD. Best episode ever.

Is that show still on?
Frick I haven't watched it in years.
I remember when it was cutting edge back in the day.
No one else was saying damn or hell on TV, and they were.
