I had to make a potluck poster for our company. little time but had inspiration from Target and Starbucks.

Also had to do a flyer for another free luncheon for another part of the company.

enjoying the holiday season with some snacks and actually haven't listened to much seasonal music yet but thought some may enjoy the posters/flyers.

The first one's a beaut!
Makes me think of a hollywood premiere. There's a couple of flakes that are identical, but whatever.

The second one is nice too.

thanks all. When I did the Blue flyer (first assignment) I had two ideas, a blue scene and a red one. The Blue is what came out because I had trouble with teh red, I wanted to add some texture to some of the red but it wasn't working out. So when the second Poster came to me I thought I'd go back to the red look I wanted before and skip the texture. Thanks for the compliments. For the red one I wanted it to look a bit like a varnished stripe or a sheen on the red to make the stripes but if it looks more like just two reds i think it still works out well.

I'm not really feeling the first one myself. I had a hard time read the "Custom Direct will provide..." text, but that's probably just me. And the contrast of the title text doesn't sit well with me for some reason. The pattern of the background is too distracting, in my opinion.

The second one now. I absolutely LOVE it. It looks flawless.

The top's type has a teensy bit too much glow and kerning is a wee snug, but very nice overall. Me likey.

Only thing that bothers me is the two circles in the blue one...looks like half a hidden mickey (for all you disney fans). Otherwise, I like them both. Very nice!

Very nice work. May I ask what fonts were used in the first one? That script is especially nice.

the fonts used are from House Industries:
Ed Script and Ed Gothic

there are a few more Opentype fonts in teh Ed Series, a Hawaiian/tiki style, Roman, and Brush.
