Hi All
Just wanting to canvas some thoughts on a logo.
It is for a cleaning company called MKT Clean. Just wanting to know if the MKT part reads clearly enough & also thoughts on the design.

I like the simplicity of the logo. The "mk" combined felt kind of weird to me at first; I think I perceived it as "mr" for a second, even after reading that it was MKT. I like the fell of it, though. good job.

The K didn't really jump out at me.

And just a thought, but the crookedness in the letters don't really give me a 'clean' feeling. It seems messy.

I'm not fond of the crooked letters either. Why are they crooked?

As my design progressed I prefered the way the sparkle sat on the T.
Please have a look at the earlier design.

I like the mark

However, when accessing the communitive aspects I find the the mkt gets some what lost by the way in which the letters are combined.

So I like it but, I think design wise the letters are the most important aspects. So if they are getting some what lost to execution a new approach should be taken.

Not sure if adding the bit to the k helps. I think the biggest problem is that "Mr. Clean" is such a household name that my brain just fills it in before I've had a thorough read at it- an optical illusion of sorts. I would suggest making MKT Clean very clear and group it with a great logo (could be based on your sparkle element)

Very nice and solid.

Allow me to mention that in your last progression image the gap between the "M" and "K" may make little difference at a reduced size. Toy with the idea of tilting the sparkle so that the slant of the arm of the sparkle plays a smaller role in deciding the shapes/angles the letter forms take.

I'm not sure that I like the way the "N" in "clean" sticks out past the end of the mark. It seems a little unbalanced to me... but then, I'm only starting my first cup of coffee.

i like the over all look but it also reminds me of MCI or some phone company. I like the playfulness of teh "crooked" letters. I had no trouble reading the MKT but that might be because I knew it going in what the letters were.

Hi Guys
My logo has progressed a little after a suggestion from a designer friend.

Samakimoto - Valid points, I have tightened up the space between the M & K. Also, I tried the sparkle on the same angle as the Italic letters, but I think having it straight helped 'ground' the image.

Maorea - Point taken with the allignment of CLEAN, its now alligned with the outer of the T and back of the K.

Thanks all for your input, I think I may keep this one and develop some options.
Cheers

i personally like the second one you posted best, the k was never hard to "distinguish" but the slant of the cross on the t felt wierd becaus the m and k were level then you have the slanted cross coming into play.

your later designs feel like your pushing the k too much and it almost sticks out more than the other letters now. and the tiny gap between the k and t looks like a missed vector point than an attempt at seperation.

I like this newest one best...

(although I opened the link in the first post before reading the company name and read 'mkt' quite easily)

still like this one better, though ...

I prefer the first version over the second or third, but think the most recent version has the most unique feel and I ultimately like it best. I think I might make the negative space arc and wedge between letters just a bit more prominent, though.

I really like the latest version...the little white 'hooks' (for a lack of a better name) which separate the combined letters are very cool looking. Although I have to wonder if they should be slughtly larger so as to not close up when reduced in size.

What about slanting the 'sparkle' in the same angle as the letters? ...and maybe centering it into the 't' a bit more?

Just my .02¢. I think you're on the right track...just needs a bit more tweakin'.

Can't wait to see the final.

Its a good solid logo I think. Pretty simple and easily recognizable, but its not the most unique. Still, it is very successful in my opinion.

the progression is nice & i like the most recent best but it feels like "clean" was just thrown on try to tie it together a little better. either by giving them the same slat or maybe using lower case. also try to center or make them the same length.

The first time I looked at it without knowing what the letters stood for I thought "mkt or mkti?", and settled with mkt. Then I checked, and saw that it was a cleaning company. I looked again, and I thought the t was a person holding a vacuumer (probably not a problem with that in the updated version). I see your thoughts behind it clearly now, though, and it's very nice, but maybe my earlier thoughts might mean it doesn't communicate easily enough, as I saw that star way too slow.
