So..this is the last week of the month and what that means for me is that I have ot layout the Spanish paper that we have. Ok...so yesterday the internet is down at work ALL afternoon...I can't get on to get the info I need to start working on this paper. I ask the editor before I leave... 'John, do I need to come in early tomorrow morning to start on this paper?' (I ask bc it always depends on what HE has for me - for the copy). So he says 'Oh yeah, please come in early beccause I will have alot for you to do when you get here.' So I'm like 'Ok...so I'll be here around 7am k' (*GRUMBLES UNDER BREATH*).

So...this morning I get here - at 6:45 am...tired as FK bc this has been an unbelievable stressful week between all the chaos at work and dealing with mortgage companies so I can get my freakin house. So here I am..go into my office and expect to see...ohhhh ATLEAST 5 pages of copy ready for me to layout. But..newwppp! Nothing...yes thats right...NOTHING!! So...I think to myself...'oh he will bring something in a minute...so..' I go in and get all the placements for the display ads in place...ok DONE...then I go and do the things I had to pull off the internet...format it...eps the file, place the file...ok DONE...so now its like...ohhh 7:30-ish...and STILL NO COPY! FK!! I work on some other stuff, talk to my best friends brother on yahoo, post on the GDF...answer friggin phones...then FINALLY...at 9:30am..yeah..uh uh...you read that right...9:30am...2 hours and 45 minutes AFTER I got here, he brings me some copy. But not 4 pages or 6 pages...he brings me TWELVE pages of fkn copy at once!! Now...wouldn't it have been more logical and MORE effiecient time wise to bring me like 4 pages at a time. Atleast that way...he is working and I am working constructively too....WTF!!!!

Soo...I get back from my house inspection..and he put 18 PAGES on my fkn desk...18! FK! What an a$$hole! It's like he saved all the work to give me all at once. All this time I could have been working instead of sittin here doing things unrelated to this sh!tty paper...I need a beer or somethin...screw this..I'm leavin at 5pm reguardless...his a$$ should have had copy to me at 7am..GRRRRRR :o( It don't care WHAT time this sh!t gets to press tomorrow..UGH :o(

Oh and the latest..yes there is more...My friend David just shows up here about 20 min ago...the Editor tells him he can stay and hang out for awhile but that he CAN'T TALK TO ME! I mean FK..this morning you didn't have SH*T for me to do...a friend comes in to chat for like 5 MINUTES and who the hell is he to tell David he CAN'T talk to me?? WWW TTT FFF?? I'm leaving at 5pm...screw that..leaving with 16 pages of copy on my desk and will have about 20 more tomorrow when I get here...I just don't give a sh*t right now.

I didn't know that editorial ruled over production - is that how it is in Georgia? That stinks!! I always thought they were on an equal basis and only the publisher was over both. I'm all for trying to get along in newspaper world but I think this editor needs reminding that he's not the boss and can't be jerking you around.

LTG.....this guy.....sheese I dunno what to say. My boss is outta town in Panama for 2 weeks. When he is gone, this Editor/Salesperson is in charge and it TOTALLY goes to his head 100% and he turns into Mr. Jacka$$! Telling my friend not to come talk to me really made me mad. Kinda like the straw that broke the camels back. Before I left today the editor or whatver he is asks me (while I am workin on the paper) if he can get into the Quark doc and print out the pages I have done (basically so he can mark em up for changes, add headlines, etc ) and I tell him not right now bc I am working on the file and of course he can't open it when I have it open (DUHHH). What I am thinking is yeah...he wants to mark em up after I leave and then leave ANOTHER stack on my desk for in the morning and I didn't want that, espiecally since HE is the reason I am behind, because he is holding pages until he gets 10 or 12 to hand to me so I can do the layout. So..when I left tonight...I reset my computer to boot into OS X so that it would require a password to get into it. I know he can get the file from the server but the only computer that can open it is MINE because everyone else is on a lower version on Quark and I didn't down save it.....haa!

So...of course he will be pissed at me when I come in tomorrow at 7am...he called my cell twice tonight but I never answered. I know it may have been kinda a sh*tty thing to do but frankly I am tired of taking his crap every friggin day. I already know that I am too nice and let him and the other salespeople get away with everything. Normally I let it all roll off my back but I just couldn't do it today, it was just one thing after the next - ALL DAY! My boss is totally cool and has already talked to this guy once about how he treats me and others in the office...so if my boss comes to me about it I am totally prepared to tell him what an a$$hole John is...luckily I am able to be pretty blunt with my bossman!

Anyways....I am rambling again...sorry. I need to just forget about today and be glad that tomorrow is FRIDAY! So..thanks for the ears all who listened and read all my crap! I do appreciate having ppl to come to that understand! It's so helpful!

Ok..so..maybe it was a little cruel but I do have to say that I got a certain satisfaction when I came in this morning and my computer was in sleep mode (of course I shut it DOWN last night when I left) so I wake it and its on the password screen in OS X!! Which would be the reason the editor was trying to call me last night, because he couldn't get into it..hehe...I'm sorry..but....

Haha! He couldn't get into my system at all..too funny! The other designer just got her and he was telling me about the Editor tryin to get on my puter last night after I left. My buddy backed me up and made somethin up bc of course I told him before I left what was goin on. He is the only one here I trust to get on my machine...the others just muck everything up when they touch it! Damn I feel better...and only 8:30am and I am back on track! w00t!! :o)

Your should make them a user acount with read only right to ONE folder. Call it the shared folder and drop what they need in there so they can't mess things up. Thats one thing I like about OSX you are the admin. i guess apple was thinking about you when they developed it.

Yeah we don't use OS X here...but I have it on my system. I don't want any of them on MY computer AT ALL bc they fk everything up when the touch it. Nelson - the other designer is the only person other than myself that is allowed to get into my system :o)
