Hi, I can make banners and logos and stuff like that just fine, but I am totally vexed when it comes to making 'drawings' like this. http://www.troy.k12.ny.us/faculty/smithda/Media/animal%20cell%20answers.jpgHow on earth do you do that!? All that fine detail and all. I pretty much need to know how to make that from start to finish. And then I can take those skills and use them for my exact purpose. Please help!!

P.S. I use Gimp, but have used PhotoShop and can take most PS techniques and use them for Gimp. If that is totally impossible in Gimp, I can probably get PS.

I am guessing that is a guash or water color hand illustration from an old text book.
While it's not impossible to do using Photoshop or even Illustrator 10 or CS...not me mon.
PrintDriver is a large format digital print dude. His advice/opinions may not apply to the 4color/offset/web world of printing

Yea I kinda thought it was a hand drawing, thanks for the reply. Do you think that it would be *more* possible using like a wacom tablet or something? Or is that kinda thing really meant for hand drawing and painting? Thanks again, any other ideas anyone?

I think it's a drawing scanned in to photoshop and digitally enhanced with labeling, etc. The only other way to make something like this would be to find clip art that looks similar and change it to fit your use... or spend lots of time in illustrator using lots of detail (and the pen tool). Good Luck!

Simply create the hand-drawn image, enhanced with a sharpie and scan it into PS. Color and label it in PS and yer done.
Elapsed time - one hour...
fer real!
(Whew! - and that is why I will not do two shows a day...)

^^ What he said.
I do suggest, however, that you use Painter as opposed to Photoshop. Whil Photoshop is great for almost any type of 'coloring', I must say you get much better results in Painter.

By Corel. It's like having your own little painting studio on your PC. They are giving away trial versions on their site.
