Woke up 6:30 this morning after outputting 27 jobs that came in yesterday at the same darn time. Holiday rush. Turned on the TV to watch the news and it was anounced that a rocket for the first time has taken off at NASA's Wollop Island facility on the eastern shore of Virginia (150 miles from me). Knowing that the eastern shore is east of Washington and that my house is perched on a hill, I looked out my backyard window which faces east and I'd be damned if I could see that rocket souring into the sky!
What a site to see rockets flying around Washington. :)

I read about that in the paper, it would have been real cool to see it though.

Yeah it was cool. Wallops Island is only about 40 miles from my house so I got a good view. Though I have to admit it wasn't as cool as the night launch of one of the moon missions I saw when I was a kid. I don't remember which one, but we were in FLA for vacation and we saw it from only a few miles away. I remember it being so bright.
