Hmm, I think it's a start, but some of the characters don't really seem to blend in the way the other thread did, to show shadows and curves. I think you're on the right track however.

Have you seen this link? (http://www.bemboszoo.com/) . A different approach to a similar idea. Very cool, I think Camarota was the one who hipped me to it.

what characters if any seem to jump out as out of place?
do you think there are too many or not enough?

She looks like she's about to unleash some serious anger at some poor unsuspecting sailor.... :p

How many type faces did you use G-Dawg? Did you use only one or multiples. We did some of this in our typography class, and it was pretty fun.

Maybe define the form a bit more.

Right now the form is very abstracted.

Perhaps limit yourself to one set of fonts or individual letters.

It also appears as you skewed some letters, if you did I would try not too, but if you didn't then you're ok.

I was thinking merman with massive pectorals.

^ thats it. It's probably because the chin is a little strong. Also, the hair looks like it is flowing in the wrong direction. Other than that, very cool.

i saw a merman too... i think it was the broad shoulders that did it for me. or lack of nipples?? wait men have nipples too... I dont know? maybe make her happier. happy is sexier i think. unless you're not going for sexy

i used several type styles but i didn't skew any of them. I'll see if i can give har a boob job, that should make her happier. i'll post it up after surgery.

I agree with other comments. I think the ? for the tail is too bold and distracting. Since you are using mulitple fonts, you could try one that's slightly more elegant. Other than that it's pretty cool looking.

Tail needs more definition. Not really sure how the end works at the moment. Good start though.
