My question is the interior paper on a booklet. I am using a 100lb gloss book paper for the cover. What should I use for the interior pages?
My options are:
The same as the cover
16 pt paper
or 70lb premium white offset
Thanks in advance...I have checked with the printer and all they have told me is it's purely preference. I just think using the 100lb paper would make the booklet too thick and bulky...it will be 4-color process and I think the 70lb premium might be okay as well...thanks again for your input!

for text 16 pt does not sound right, that would be thicker than the cover
maybe it was 16 pound, but thats too thin (almost bible paper thin)
you should get a paper sample from your printer - they have tons of samples they throw away every year which are provided by Paper manufacturers
70-80 lb offset is the general standard for booklet text pages and is similar in thickness to 100lb gloss book/text

Hey upekkarich...
thanks for the info...I was thinking the 70lb also...the 16pt is for business cards and such. This is going to be an industrial booklet...kinda like a catalogue so I want the interior pages to still be thinner than the cover yet strong enough to hold up and not be too heavy that it weighs a ton...
I may go with the 70lb then...
On a side note I am also in Arkansas :)

that's cool...I work for AT&T Yellow Pages up here. I am the entire inhouse staff for three of their directories (Rogers, Fayetteville and Ft. Smith). It gets busy at times but I like that I am the only designer. I get ads from Taylor Mack to put in the books a few times a year. I haven't gotten in with any of the agencies here though.
I am also a freelancer out of the house too, so that keeps my creativity side running :)

we run our magazines at 100# cover for the cover and 80#text for the text. If the want both glossy. If they want less expensive we use 70# opaque
