My customer would like to record all the typrography on his computer (windows xp), and e-mail it to me, I should type it in his ad.

With what program should he record it, he can use the default sound recorder from Windows, but it doesn't work more than a minute at once.
thanks,
MoPo

I use Audicity, it's free and easy to use. he would need to install the third party .dll file to be able to save as mp3....it's a weird catch that if you give the software away it can't save as mp3, but can be made to do so legally after.

I second Audicity. Great little program. I use it for singing practice because of it's 'one-key' simplicity. Especially if you're studying the harmony parts. 'R' to record the lead, Space to stop. Play the track, R again to record the next voice part. It comes with enough basic filter stuff to do almost all I need too.

This customer wants to dictate his ad copy and e-mail you a sound file?

I hope they speak clearly. This seem like a heck of a lot of time effort and trouble to avoid typing a few lines.

Audicity is your program as the others have said.

Thanks all,
It sounds nice and simple, but how do I get to work the export as mp3, I have downloaded the .dll and located it in the preferences, but the exports options are gray and unclickable. and so are all the effects options.
thanks again,
mopo
P.S. "kool" Forget about this customer, it looks great, I will use it for me in the future.

You have to have a segment of the sound file selected to use the effects. Do a select all and they will be available. Or you can use them on just a section of the file.
