Ok...I have a file created in Quark 5 (I have Quark 5 but...) when I open it in Quark 6 it opens it fine but after resaving it in Quark 6 then reopen it in Quark 6 it looses some images. It's like they are just deleted. The picture box where the missing images were are still there but not the image. Please help this is a consistant problem here. Thanks, Jay /emoticons/eyecrazy.gif

Could it be a relinking problem? Have you tried to update your links in Utilities>Usage?

Well it's like they were deleted. All files are linked before I save them from Quark5 to 6. When they get in 6 and I open them up only some of the images are missing. If they were not linked they would show just not print or save out as .eps files. This is killing me... /emoticons/hop.gif

I think the Quark alien did it. :)
But seriously, I haven't worked with 6 myself, but from reading other people's posts on this forum it seems like translating files across versions causes files/links to 'disappear' like that. Probably just another one of Quark's many bugs— I mean quirks.

When you opened the Q5 file did you check the links to make sure they were OK before you saved in Quark 6 and closed the file?

We've had a similar problem here. Some files that were converted to version 6 from 5 just get totally corrupted. The file will open, and all text and image boxes retain their original shape, size and placement, but EVERY single box on those particular pages is empty and contains the small red x-box you get when there is too much text (even though there is really nothing in the box). That has happend to several people here on several occasions. We just chalk it up to Quark malfunction.

Hey everyone. I found a work around for the missing text problem... It was happening to me when i convert from a 4.1 document. I figured out the solution because i opened up a 4.1 doc, made a change on page 1 of 40, and everything after page 1 was lost when i saved... then, i reopened the original, scrolled to page 9, and made a change, and saved. Now, i had the first 9 pages and the rest were history. I then reopened the original again, went to page 1, scrolled throught the whole document (held the "page down" key until it stopped) then saved as 6, works just fine from then on. It seems that pages go sour if they haven't been through a screen redraw in quark 6 from a conversion from 5 or 4...
There was also a problem of rules not showing up. A simple change in zoom fixed that...
