Being the dirt worshiping hippie I am, I read the TreeHugger Blog on a daily basis. So the yesterday I come across this ad for TreeHugger Radio.

Um, no. You're the only one. Yeah that logo reminds me of a movie I watched once (for educational purposes). Lets just say it involved a DeWalt cordless drill, an oil can full of lubricant, and a brightly colored attachment that would have made excellent musky lure with a few strategically placed treble hooks.

I see the earbud thing too. Clever. But as a silhouette, with little detail, the form becomes more ambiguous. It might not be so bad either if it was standing at a perfect 90º - not slightly askew, as would be something else if it were found in its natural environment.

I totally missed the whole earbuds, until someone actually mentioned it. I was trying to figure out if it was a microphone, or something else radio related. I think in theory the idea was good, execution not as great. I didn't think anything dirty, I just could't figure out what the shape was supposed to be.

Sure the pun is there, but the sport is boring. Last thing I feel like doing after watching golf is have sex. I just want to go to sleep.

And while I agree sweaty men aren't exactly appetizing, at least those types of sports have some adrenaline. Adrenaline = energy. An energetic spirit is more condusive to nooky.

I think its a poor logo for reasons outside of a possible shape people are seeing. Look above the letter "d" and the wire curls to make a strange shape. I'm not too crazy about the type either. Also, the wire intersecting the letter "o" is unexcusable. What the heck are they thinking? This logo supports the word radio so much, I didn't even notice the TH in front of it. I thought it read as theradio when I glanced quickly at it.

All I can say is that I hope no one here is that shotty of a designer. I think whoever designed this was so tickled that they could use the earbud shaped as a letter D that they forgotten the rest of the logo. Poor, poor work.
