Hey everybody, I'm in search of higher quality business card paper to print on for my clients. I currently use standard, matte, single-side glossy, Ivory, Linen textured, etc. Most of which can be found at your local Office Depot.
Doubled-sided glossy cards are at the top of my list, but I can't find them anywhere! are they only sold to print shops or something?
Thicker and sturdier cards would be next on the list. The heaviest paper weight of my current stock of biz card paper is quite thin compared to some of the cards I have seen from several print shops in my area.
Doubled-sided glossy flyers are hot in my area too, seems like everybody has those.
Thirdly, does anyone know of an online paper supply store that sale paper thicker than the norm??? Appreciate the help.

If your are a designer and not a printer, then it pays to go see your printer about stock. Printers have access to a huge range of paper. Then you can talk price with them at the same time.
Many paper mills won't sell to people off the street. You need to set up an account with the paper company and you also need minimum order. Better to order get it through your printer.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I handle the printing of all my orders as well as the design. I've never had to deal with a printer or print shop in the 2 years I've been in business. 98% of my clients are more than satisfied with the current stock I offer, but I know there are better products out there. I'll visit some print shops and see if I can order these papers from them. I had the feeling they weren't available to the public. Any other help or suggestions gladly welcomed.

How are you printing your work?
If you're going to an offset printers, make sure that the paper will work with your printer before buying lots of it. The printers should know what paper works with what process. I know my guys do.

I'm simply using inkjet printers. But Yeah, I'll make sure the papers are compatible with my equipment. Thanks again.

We have people buy stock all the time from us. Normally stock comes in sheets so we just cut it down to the size they wante it. No biggie.
We even have people that buy stock from and want it it just perforated. Normally for invoices or something I think so they can print them ount invidually on their own printers.
Come back if you have problems at your printer k?

I work at an offset printers, and while I can give you advice, I'm in New Zealand, so sending paper to you would probably not be economical...
most paper made for offset will not work good in an inkjet.
inkjet paper uses special coatings.
http://www.redriverpaper.com/ has one of the best selections of inkjet papers, including sample sets.
I use them for photos, proofs, and any small runs that I might do on my inket.
