You can buy vector illustrations of figures (http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup/people_specific_attributes/number_of_people/large_groups_of_people_crowds/2559880_pedestrians.php?id=2559880) or people (http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup/people_specific_attributes/age/teenagers/2092774_global_generation.php?id=2092774) from here (http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup.php?id=1642144).

It really doesn't matter what colour they are as once you purchase the vector file, you can colour it whatever colour you need it to be.

Didn't your laser come with design software? Usually they have a 'sign-making' program bundled with the hardware... If not, does the interface accept files from, or have plug-ins for, Illustrator or CorelDraw? Those would be the vector programs of choice.

It seems kind of, well, odd to have a laser cutter but no software to use it...??? They're too expensive to just buy without knowing what you are getting into. <Even if you do know. My boss still says they are too expensive. LOL!>

Or maybe you are outsourcing. Check samples for burn. I saw a bunch of laser cut paper Christmas cards out there this year where the fillets had been stained where the paper toasted. At the price being charged by the artists (nearly 3x a normal xmas card), no one was buying them because of the staining.

This book (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/3899550722/qid=1122887000/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_sbs_1/002-5734336-8977664?v=glance&s=books&n=507846) comes with almost 1000 very high quality vector images. For only $40. Its an amazing deal. Examples can be seen here. (http://www.die-gestalten.de/books/detail?id=402881820693dcee010693ddcc940565)

I don't know if it's easy, but you can use Adobe Illustrator to make vector designs as wells (since it sounds like you also may wish to make your own designs.)

Thank you, actually I have two software to use one for engraved and Corel to make vectors, but probably I need more library or clip arts more illustrations to use to make cut outs.

That's a pretty sweet site, Panda. I might check that book out. I take it it comes with a CD?

Btw- you can look at the cheap clipart books in your local book store. Then just use Illy trace to get the vectorized version. Those cliparts are scans saved as EPS and are relatively low quality, but a quick trace in Illy makes them lovely to engrave.

I also just save the illy Ai file and open in Corel to set up our lasering. The laser that we have recommends corel over the other programs.

What do you get by buying that book? Do you get a book with prints of all the vector images, and a CD with vector graphics for use in Illustrator? Do you know if it's eligible to use for commercial purposes?
