Recommendations

Hi, there.
I am new to designing graphics and I would like to ask all the vets out there which would be the best programme to begin graphic design. Btw, I need a program that can be used to create animations (e.g. in the movies you see a small airplane figure flying over the world map, leaving dots where it passes, that sort of thing) which I can import into Ulead Video Studio or other movie making software.

Any suggestion/recommendation is more than welcome.

your going to need to invest in a couple of programs for the various uses. To edit photos and bitmap based images you can use photoshop. For vector format Illustrator or freehand are good. For the animation your going to be looking at flash probably. There is a learning curve as well, expect a couple months to be able to use the programs. Expect a couple years to master them.
