I read this story at [http://www.snopes.com/cokelore/poster.asp] about a $200K campaign for Coca-Cola that had to be trashed because some designer put some risque imagery in an ice cube. Take a look at this Coke Illustration. I love stuff like this...

The artical says the ad came out in 1985 when Coke was reintroducing its contoured glass bottle (that's why the 'feel the curves'), and that someone finally noticed the, ahem, act several months later on the back of a Coke truck. The designer was fired and sued apparantly, so it was completely intentional. Sometimes you just can't resist having a little fun at your client's expense, but not many people do that when Coke is their client!!

Back when 'subliminal advertising' was trendy, that stuff was intentional. Makes you wonder :) I did a Big Paper on the subject in school. It was facinating to see how much stuff they got away with. I'll try and pull up some old files and see what I can find to share.

I just did a google search for 'subliminal advertising' and read about stuff for nearly an hour. Pretty interesting to look at and read about. Some people believe there is no such thing as subliminal messages, still others are really grasping at straws to see some of the stuff they say is there. Guess it goes both ways.

You can take a good look at a T-bone by sticking your head up a bull's ass, but wouldn't you rather take the butcher's word for it?

A long time ago when I was first in college the Baltimore Sun ran a full page ad for a fair or carnival I'm not sure which. The ad was a full page cartoon of a carnival with tons of people and rides and such. On the carousel there were standard animals and one special one. It seems the illustrator had placed a woman on all fours with a dude riding her from behind as one of the characters on the carousel. It was too funny.
