just bought a new printer - epson R1800 - hooked it up to a mac running OSX 10.4.x, installed all the drivers supplied, then installed the same drivers on two different macs on the same network, one mac on the network prints absolutely fine but the other one doesn't, the problem is whenever I print on the non working one, I cannot select plain A4, it always defaults to the roll borderless feed, which means that I always have to manually feed paper through (not ideal) the working mac can select plain A4, I have undated to the latest drivers without success, any help from a epson print driver guru would be much appriceated

Are all the Macs running Tiger?
Is it not working in all programs or one in particular (I'm thinking Quark).

yeah all macs are on Tiger, it is the general page setup in any application, basically the working macs have all page sizes in the page setup:
A4
A4 roll borderless (separate feed)
A3
A3 roll boderless (separate feed)
etc etc

but the non working mac only has:
A4 roll borderless (separate feed)
A3 roll boderless (separate feed)

as if during the original installation the standard page sizes have not installed correctly or it is conflicting with something else?

The only conflict I can think of is Entourage...
Did you try reloading the driver on the machine in question?

I have an epson 2200 and I had a very hard time setting up the drivers for it as they did not all come with the printer and they do not load at the same time. It was weird and I had to search epson's website to solve the problem. I would suggest looking there as epson has always been bad with documentation. On the flip side i have heard the epson 1800 is freaking kick ass and I swear by my 2200

BY JOVE! I think I've cracked it! I thinks the problem was that I'd created a custom page size and named it "A4" and that must have been conflicting with the default A4 setting, I resolved it by deleting the custom page size and now it works - BINGO!!!! how frustrating, now I can do so work - only took 7 hours to figure that one out!!!
