I do graphic design as a hobby. But I think its well worth the money to have a professional design a logo. I'm currently in the process of developing a dog line of clothing. It's not going to be a frou-frou line, quite the opposite.
I love Margo Chase’s work of the Chase Design Group. I like the different styles of calligraphy she incorporates into her logos. It has this rough and tough feeling. Something else that caught my eye is the “Slake” logo created for Tamasari Beverage created by Tracy Sabin of the Sabingraphik Inc.
If anyone here has experience doing this style of design/typography, or knows of anyone, please contact me or send a link to your website.

P.S. If you were wondering, I have contacted the Chase Design Group several times and have not received a single reply. I'm assuming they only deal with large corporations, such as record labels.
