Our stupid, lazy arse IT guy who is always coming in to fix the Windoze computers for one thing or another and enjoys taking a cheap shot at us Mac users in the design department. He tells us we are barely a blip on the radar of computers used in the world and we will be forced to use windows eventually all while he tries to remove another virus on a Windoze computer. I don't see him having to come in and fix our Mac computers. Go sit on a tack! I don't make fun of Windows users so leave us alone!

Lonepine....next time your IT guy comes in ask him which computer company made the most profit in the last quarter. Apple sure does seem to be doing pretty well. Now with a comparable under 1000 dollar desktop I think you will see their home use go up. Most IT ppl don't know Macs for a reason. They don't need to. I would love to see IT ppl crap a brick if Macs started taking over. Ha! GDs would be the new generation of IT ppl because we use them all the time. Of course like anything, Macs will end up with viruses soon enough because hackers will go after what is popular to try to screw it up.

Since we're on the subject, Microsoft fanboys jerk my chain. Theyare so friggin' obsessed with their computers it's insane, but is it because they have to be so obsessed just to get functionality out of it (i.e. messing with the thing all damn day just to get it to turn on) or do they have zero lives? I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop with Windows XP on it and even though I have taken countless classes on Microsoft-this-and-that I stillwish I had a Powerbook. Just an FYI my last computer crashed every time I would run Windows Media Player...there's quality product there. Microsoft sucks at virtually everything, from OS to web browsers to video game systems.
MS fanboys, here's what I think of you're endless crusade ofmasking your own insecurities...

Sorry man, but everyone sh!ts on the gamecube; I think that's the best system right now but since it's too "kiddy" looking no one will play it. I think the XBOX is OK at best, but I'm kinda pissed at Microsoft because my XBOX Live connection is the sh!ts.
Now that I think about it games these days jerk my chain. It's a mass media messof rehashed garbage and unoriginality and a place where better graphics is more important than gameplay. They aren't games anymore, but interactive movies. Give me Viewtiful Joe 2 over GTA San Andreas. Mario Kart or F Zero beat out Need for Speed anyday. Halo 2? YAWN. And all sports titles should be burned, why do people keep buying the same game with updated rosters and scant new features each year? Despite what anyone else says, Super Monkey Ball 2 is the best game ever and that's the damn truth.
I hate snow.
I hate XBOX controllers, hige, clunky, awkward pieces of dung.
XBOX is so popular to the fact that for about $150-300 depending on who you know and materials you have, you can ad a hard drive and have any game imaginable on the damn thing, rent games and burn them to the hard drive, you never have to buy a game again. And I do mean almost everygame imaginable, thousands and thousand of games for 200 bucks. playstation, atari, nintendo, nintendo 64, gleco, japan games, any video game counsel system ever made is on there, along with all the games that came out for that system.
Oh yah rueber awesome rant about PC's that was great

I don't mind house stuff like Felix or Chem Bros. but I can't stand trippy techno; I got suckered into going to the "hottest" nightclub in town last weekend, and by "hottest" I mean the one with themost heinous looking women who think they're hot or the hot ones who have something stuck so far up there ass they have to take a toolbox with them to take a sh!t, and they were playing that crap so loud I thought I would lose control of my bowels.I thought about punching the DJ in the face and popping in myGwar CD...that would have kicked ass and worth the assault charge.

Right on reuber1 - Gotta love the gamecube. I just picked up Metroid Prime 2 - So beautiful....no load times. If you are looking for a great RPG for cube --> Tales of Symphonia, 60+ Hours, 2 discs. Can't wait to check out RE4
It is true that they don't have the 3rd party support, but the nintendo franchises are worth the $99 bucks for the system. Zelda, Mario, Mario Kart, Metroid, Animal Crossing, Pikmin - All amazing games. Nintendo is the only company of that makes money when it sells a system, PS2 and XBOX lose money on each system, you have to buy 2 or 3 games for them to break even.
I wish I had something clever to put here.......

Going back over a few threads since I hadn't visited this thread in the past few days....
Of course IT guys hate Macs....if all the computers were Macs, it would put a lot of ITs out of jobs since they've have a lot less to do.
God, are people still using that old 'one button' argument? I always found that funny, I'm using a multiple button mouse just fine on my eMac at home.
Moving on to the XBox, it's the least played system of mine, I'm kind of disappointed with it. But say what you will about the games, but it's true value is to mod....I'm saving up to buy a mod chip that will allow me to load on hobbyist software like the XBox Media Player. (Was interested in putting Linux on it, but don't need to do that if I have XBox Media Player.) I'd also like to add one of those LCDs onto the XBox as well, I'll have to show off pictures in a off-topic thread when I finish.
Oh, and to contribute to something on-topic, uhh....I hate weddings. Everyone's wedding is identical to the next. (But wedding receptions are an excellent place to meet dates.)

I used to have a playstation 2. I bought it pretty close to when it came out. And recently it just crapped out one me. Sony was expecting $125 for a new 'used' PS2! I could not believe it. I could get one for less at a local EB Games! So, I decided to trade in my faulty pS2 for an X-Box. Granted I could not get a few games that I like for the PS2, but I got to play some great games on the X-Box!
It really doesn't matter anyways. The next generation is coming out soon enough, and I will have to choose between systems again!

Well excuse me all to hell Flaming Moe. By the way I just checked your profile and it reads that you're still in high school...do me a favor and stop talking. I've been playing games since you were in diapers or, possibly, before you were even born...yeah, you're the Video Game Kid and I'm the frickin' guy who could care less. Halo 2 blows. I have XBox Live...yeah listening to people say "F'ck you, F'ckin' a$$hole, you're a c'cksucker" for twelve minutes straight is my idea of a fun time, even for a sailor mouthed individual like myself...about as much fun as sticking my dong in a mousetrap. I've forced myself (after getting a hold of the $100 G-Adapter, wise investment on my part thank you Microsoft SARCASM DISABLED ) to try to play XBox Live and like it,but unfortunately because of people with common repartee like the gem you just posted I've found X Box Live to be sort of a waste of time...it's fun in small doses, but people who play it for hours on end need to get a life. I have better things to do like get laid.
Thank you milwaukee...gamecube rocks but people who are too hung up on their own insecurities won't play it because it's too "kiddy", although any female company will find Super Monkey Ball cute enough to try, possibly leading to a bangfest between said player and said female (possibly). Oh, do play Resident Evil 4, by far the best one there is.

Looks like some guys were getting lucky tonight, since at work I had to stock three copies of the game. At my fine retail establishment that compensates me with low pay (Target) we're selling Monkey Ball 2 for $19.99.
My innuendo aside, the game is really fun and excellent for multiple people (the minigames, all TWELVE of them, are good enough to be games on their own), and it's really easy to pick up and play. It's definitely not a shoot 'em up type game that just tries to be violent for the sake of being violent.

F@*K you lucy.....
Say u still want a freinship, cant live your life without freindship, cant figure out why I give a damn on what you want, I dont understand the now before the then.
Most of this garbage I write, that some people seem to like, is about you and how I let you infect my life, and if they got to know you, i doubt that they would see it, they wonder why I showed you how you could leave it
A freind in Chicago said I should stay persistent, if I stay around I'm bound to break resistance. F@*K YOU LUCY for defining my exsistance, F@*CK You and your differences
Ever since I was a young lad with a part-time dad, it was hard to find happiness of inside of what I had, I studied my mother, I digested her pain, and vowed no one in my path would have to walk the same...., Travel like sound across the faint ladder, I travel with spoon to mix this cake batter, and I travel with feel so I can deal with touch. It's like that thank you very much, F@* YOU VERY MUCH
Everyone in his life would mistake it as love, Everyone in his life would mistake it as love,
F@*K the what happend, I got stuck. They can peel pieces of me off the grill of your truck. Used to walk with luck, used to hold your hand, fell behind and played the role of a slower man. I wanna stand ontop of this mountain and yell. I wanna wake up and break up this lake of hell. I feel like a bitch for letting this SH@T twist me up..... The last starfighter is wounded time to give it up. On a pick it up mission, kept it bitter, getting ng a million memories just to forget her. The diffuculty in keeping emotions controlled..., cookies for the road, took me by the soul. Hold it for the DRAMA, hunger for the nuture..., gonna take it further the hurt feels like murder. Interpret the eyes read the lines on the face, the sunshine is thickk..how much time did I waste
F@*K you Lucy for leaving me, F@*k you Lucy for not needing me, I wanna say F@*K you because i still love you, no Im not ok and I dont know what to do.
Everyone in his life would mistake it as love, Everyone in his life would mistake it as love,
Everyone in his life would mistake it as love, Everyone in his life would mistake it as love,
DO I SOUND MAD? WELL I GUESS IM KINDA PISSED. EVERY ACTION HAS A POINT.... 5 POINTS MAKE A FIST, you close em, you swing em, it hurts when it hits, AND THE truth can be a bitch but if the boot fits...... I got an idea you should get a tattoo that says WARNING...thats all.. just to warn em, so the potential victim cantake a left and save breath, and avoid you sober and upset in the moring. I WANNA SCREAM F@*K YOU LUCY, BUT THE PROBLEM IS I LOVE YOU LUCY, so instead im gonna finish my drink and have another, while you think about how you used to be my lover.
Everyone in his life would mistake it as love, Everyone in his life would mistake it as love,
Everyone in his life would mistake it as love, Everyone in his life would mistake it as love,

Oh great we found another order where the font defaulted on the art because IT didn't have the fonts loaded when the ran all the EPS files through distiller. I have no idea who the jackass is that made the decision to change all of them. There was no reason to. InDesign works with EPS files. I don't get it. You take our production numbers, you make rules and procedures, you have two ppl who follow them and yet you don't have any accountability for the third member. You continuely have to have the other two correct the problems and deal with his screwed up issues. You tell him over and over again how things are suppoed to be done. You make a god damn manual on how the department runs and he reads it. Still he screws crap up. No accountability by this damn company because they are too god damn scared of the person because he is hinting at discrimination. I am so tired of feeling like I get crap on and get no respect. I am so tired of watching him parade around bc he has the damn company by the balls because they are a bunch of spineless cowards. You make the two good workers suffer because you can't dig up the courage to deal with the problem. It's easier to turn the other way. Will they turn the other way when I go off on him and tell him how much of a worthless piece of crap he is. No of course not. They'll probably fire me. I guess one can only hope!

my mom is my rant. I love her...but...grrr
I just got the new job, and she is saying I need all these new clothes, because at my new job I'll have presentations....um...yeah no. She keeps picking out preppy older women clothes with higher wastes (my biggest pet peave). She says that I'm in a big time job now, and that if I want promotions I have to dress super nice every day.
Now correct me if I'm wrong in the following
I'm working at a university, my prof's NEVER dressed up, the woman who interviewed me was wearing a sweatshirt and jeans, and so was her coworker. Aside from the University setting, I've never been around graphic designers who dress to the nines. I think that's why I always liked this industry, everyone was unique and dressed with personality. I think that a clean and managed appearance is important, but that portfolio speaks for you...
what's your opinion on this....she is driving me crazy.

I'm always a sharp dressed man, but that's because I like to dress that way period...the way I look at work differs little from how I look at clubs (well, a few differences.) Although a lot of it is illusion too....my favorite sport jacket is often worn over t-shirts (I have a 'NOT MY PRESIDENT' shirt on in my picture in the 'faces to names' thread). The pants are actually a black and pressed pair of blue jeans. So I'm always comfortable without looking unsharp.
But I hear businesses are starting to go casual these days, my work is certainly like that. I do think you should dress nicely on job interviews, however. But on the job, it's just feeling out what is acceptable. What I've never understood is why even at casual places, shorts (in the summer) are out of the question.
But I know the whole parent thing, my mother is the same way. Fortunately she offers to buy me stuff I myself pick out, whereas I think it would be a problem if she actually did the picking. heh. ;)

Most jobs I have had in design well dressed was encouraged.
Never knew what you might run into that day. We could wear jeans and a shirt if you wanted to, and I did sometimes.
It can come down to how you want yourself to be portrayed to, some places want the nice dress code some dont.
But there are many different opinions on what is considered dressing nicley.

TB, what do youmean you can't get songs off your iPod? I've done it several times because of some lousy CD imports that were put onto it...through iTunes select your iPod (when it's attached) and click that and delete from there.

No deleting them is no problem, getting them back onto your computer is a different story, I found my way around it.
I just dont get why they did this, one of the main points with apple is simplistic and ease of use, this is easy to get around, but just a pain in the ass, it should be a simple drag and drop

Oh yeah, that...yeah I had to do that once and yes it was a pain in the ass and I don't know why they can't let you do that through iTunes alone. I figured a little drag and drop from the iPod to My Library through the iTunes player would have made sense but apparently I was wrong.
I had to download some freeware-ad nauseum-we-want-you-to-pay-to-get-rid-of-ads program which popped up a messageto order itlike every fifty songs that were imported...not fun.

I hate when a customer gives you some sort of document that came from somewhere else (they NEVER have the files or can simply go back to the place who did it), and you have to retype like five or ten lengthy pages of text. Then your boss proofreads it and jumps on you for one or two typos.

(in annoyed tone)
'I have a question. Do you actually take the time to look over your projects before you turn them in?'

...or my favorite...
'What can we do to turn these problems around?'
Of course, explaining that you had already corrected almost all of the typos (which never reached their eyes, because you proofed it) doesn't fly. I don't care how good or how careful you are, when you're the sole designer handling back to back rush work (and every job is rush here, since the jobs are promised ridiculously quickly), COMBINED with the fact you have to retype set a lot of documents that was already done at other places, you're going to make a few boo boos (which is the point of proofing it to the customer). Frankly they have only one document to look at with fresh eyes in a day, whereas my tired eyes have multiple.
Besides, I find that an alternative set of eyes catches things easier, that's just the way it is. One time I was really backed up, and my employers typeset a huge expensive banner for a store. They held it up to me to show it off, and it was not three seconds until I said 'That's spelled wrong.' (Does that give me permission to start yelling at them, then?)
Which just reminds me of another annoyance....you can have 100 jobs go through here with flying colors (complex ones, too), and the employers jump on you for one boo boo or issue on one single project.

I'm trying to work on an author's poster (a REAL job), and I'm literally being monkey wrenched from that important project because all of my jobs where the customer did things themself (I just had to paste things around for prepress) has come back. That's because each customers made mistakes and changes on their respective document. What the hell? Why not make those changes before giving me the master copy? Why the hell should I fix it?

And one more.... This might be long...
Having a bf that decides what we are having for dinner weather I want it or now. And I still have to cook it. I can't put anything in that I think would be good, I can't cook it out of context... meaning, I can't use butter in the frying pan if he says to use oil. I hate picky eaters.. cuz I like all types of food. Stupid hot hamburgers, but he won't eat sloppy joes... he'll cook a ham in ginger-ail but not in orange juice, he'll eat fried potatoes and veggies, but you can't fry them together, oh no! He'll eat white rice with chinese food but won't if I cook it. Arrr... when is it my turn to cook what I want!!??
I know.. you're going to say, just don't cook anymore. I could do that, he's asked me not to cook anymore.. but if I don't, then I have to wait till 8-9pm to eat dinner... and I am sorry, I can't wait that long for dinner!!!! And I hate cooking for one person!
Ok, done!

Don't ask, just do. Cook whatever you want and if he doesn't like it, he doesn't eat. Or just stop cooking altogether (or secretly cook just for yourself) so that when you DO cook, he really appreciates it. Then nag the shit out of him for a 'thank you for cooking me dinner' at least three times the same night. Force him to do the dishes by the old-fashioned, 'I cooked it, you clean up' routine and don't let up. Follow him around just talking at him for a few hours about how he's a loser and 'was he raised in a barn', 'I'm not your mommy' and 'You never take me anywhere nice'. Make sure you abstain from sex for a few months. Quit your job, Lay around the house all day watching soaps. Gain 60 Lbs. Nag him endlessly that there's never enough money. Well, to flip this thead into something temporarily 'positive' for once in what I'd like to call 'Thing that make me jerk my own chain....'
My idiot employers accepted a rush job at about 4:20 last night (because the customer said they wanted it tomorrow), totally disregarding what I already had on the plate (jobs that came in far before this person that desperately needed to be done).
Amazingly enough, I got it done, but then they conveniently forgot to mention to me last night that there was going to be envelopes and stuff with it too. (ONE JOB PER RUSH, GOD!) Got those done too, but they didn't have enough time to get them printed off, as the customer is now standing here tapping her foot while the others run around like chickens with their heads cut off. Me? I'm just sitting here with the thought in my mind 'I told you so.'
It's sweet.

> argggg, I just got yelled at because a customer RUSHED me, like completly rushed me, im talking dropping all of my jobs for his ass rushed me
That's the kind of bullcrap we shouldn't have to put up with, D-Frag, and I totally feel for you. As far as I'm concerned, if it's a rush job, you waive all rights to bitch for errors since.....uh, we have'ta rush. Give us sufficient time to 'carefully' look over our work, proof stuff, etc., and you'll be better off. If I was calling the shots, this is what I would do with those rush customers who demanded that you bump everything aside (often including other's rush work). In order for that to happen, the original customer (that came in first) would have to to agree to having their project postponed in favor of this new hotheaded rush customer. If the original customer disagrees, no dice. Hell, let the new customer plead his case over the phone to the original customer.
Oh sure, such things aren't 'convenient' to the customer, but I would state that it's better for them in the long run. Making false promises (like what sales reps do) does nothing but harms the customer when crap results from it. After all, how would that newer, hotheaded customer feel if HIS rush job was suddenly bumped out of the way for yet another? He can't argue, because that's what he's doing to customer number one! The above would avoid that. Not to mention that allowing sufficient time for things will greatly increase quality assurance of the project. Customers are no different than children, children whine and moan about their parents laying down some laws, but the parents knows what's best.
What makes graphic design any different than other pay services in which GD customers decide their own timelines? What if I told my mechanic that I needed the transmission in my car fixed in a few hours? They would LAUGH THEIR ASSES OFF. My reminder to any customer out there who thinks differently - remember, the IRS doesn't give a damn about any reason why you waited until the last minute to mail in your taxes. Need something important? PLAN AHEAD.
Stuff like this is why I think designers (and printers) should run the business. If I ran a print business, there would be NO ONE in the building under my supervision that doesn't at least know some 'basic' prepress and design rules. The sales reps up front would be made aware what the workpile of each graphic designer is, and base sudden rush projects upon that and who is available. Customer whines they need it? Refer to my 'people in line' suggestion above.
> group hug <hugz>
>ahhhhh better, time to go masturbate.

Driving through snow at 5 in the morning; that never gets old. And even though we aren't getting hit that hard, it still takes a frickin' miracle to get out more than one snowplow per county here in the sticks, regardless of all of the highways.
Rush customers are blowhards. Can't say from experience in the design world about thembut they are becoming a lot more prevalent in the retail world, especially now that we've got these f'cking call-buttons that they can press and when they do press them we HAVE TO BE THERE IN 60 SECONDS...the call-box even says "A Team Member will meet you in 60 seconds"...so even if we're with someone else, they push this button and expect service within 60 seconds, which I told my managers months ago when we got these it's only going to piss people off more yet I was ignored (because simple, thoughtless answers are always the best). This past Christmas, if it was just me in Electronics with like five groups of people, I'd still have one ******* who would push one of those when I'm three feet away. If I tell them they're going to have to wait because there were people before them, they get pissed and go to the manager and then the manager gets pissed at me. "I want this done and I want it done RIGHT NOW!", because every customer who comes in is the most important customer, and the customer is always right...[b].

Toilets.
They jerk my chain and piss me off. No pun intended.
2 years after putting a new toilet handle, because the old one stuck, the new one startd to stick.
You try to live with it. Carefully lifting it and forcing the plug to close so that the tank fills with water. Remembering each time.
Until company comes over. They don't know the routine. The morning after you have late night guests, you find out that the toilet has been running all night. And this begins to happen a LOT. Until the first thing out of your mouth when company arrives is instructions on how to use the toilet.
So you go and buy a new set of inner-workings for the toilet. What confusion that is. You're faced with a wall of plastic, rubber and not-so-stainless steel and they all look like the set you have. But your set doesn't work. There's a design flaw. So you choose the cheapest.
Taking it home you shut off all the water. Tear the toilet apart and find out everything is a bit more difficult than replacing a few parts. Big wrenches are involved and the use of force to get the old parts out is clearly necessary.
Porcelain, however is fragile.
So back you go to the hardware store to buy a new toilet. Having proven your strength by single-handedly breaking the old toilet into 5 pieces that cannot be glued together.
You're faced with a wall of white, off white and disgustingly un-manly pastel-coloured bowls and tanks that range in price from $100 to $1000. White works. You get a $170 toilet on sale. You're happy.
Taking the old toilet out is an excersize where you realise all your cleaning habits are really not all that they could be. And disposing of the old toilet pieces requires digging into your wallet because of land-fill charges. And two more trips to town to get a huge wax ring that looks amazingly like a giant candy.
You get the new toilet in and...the handle sticks.
Sorry to laugh at misfortune but......
Bwhahahahahaha, that seriously sucks man
but just think if this GD thing doesn't work out you have a backup career as a plumber :)
You know, there's like a butt-load of gangs on this forum. This one gang kept wanting me to join because I'm pretty good with a bo staff.
Ahhh toilets I know them well. I've been keeping my illegal 3.5 gallon per flush toilets alive for years. I find it's a lot easier when doing any plumbing chore to just buy one of every single part on it before starting. It saves a lot of gas going back and forth to the home center because you will need all of them before your done. /emoticons/cool.gif

You know what, I hate getting my car fixed. Especially sensor problems cause you have to take the damn thing to the dealership which costs out the ass. Turns out my cars central computer is shot and is starting to cause some other sensors to go (the temperature and idle sensors). Sucks. Gonna cost about $700. I really hope they get it done by the end of tomorrow, or this weekend will suck.

Ok, I know that some of you guys don't get raises or haven't gotten them in a while. So in advance I apolize for this rant. I just had my review and was told everything was going great and that I do a great job. I maxed out money wise in the department so they end up giving you raises similar to salary ppl instead of the way they do for hourly ppl. You know what that ends up working out to? pancakeing half?! Argh!! This place has screwed me out of one raise because they maxed me out in the Very good category and then I had to wait for two Excellant reviews to max out in that category...meaning I didn't get a raise?! Now bc I am maxed out I get a crappier raise. How the hell does that make sense? That is basicly like saying...thanks for the years but you aren't worth that much more to us. Even though I have more experience and it allows me to do my job better. Guess that doesn't account for anything. Almost did the double bird and walked out. Guess that's why they can do it. Bc there isn't anything better here. Argh! I kind of feel used...

I can't stand people who leave their shopping carts in a parking space at the grocery store! Every lot has like 5 places to return the carts and these people are too goddamn lazy to walk 25 feet to return the cart. I want to tear one of there arms off and beat them with it. My wife hates going to the grocery with me because everytime we pull in, sure enough, someone has left their f-ing cart in the space I want to park in so I have to get out and move the damn thing. Everytime this happens I go madcow for a few minutes!
Also, speaking of parking spaces, those jackasses that drive those ginormous duelie trucks and they can't fit the big bastid into one parking space so they take up 2!? Man those people chap my ass!
So basically selfish, inconsiderate, lazy, don't give a poo about anyone but themselves - people. What a waste!

I take 2 spaces diagonally but way out in the lot so's some self-centered ass doesn't bang into the sides of my new truck with their wide minivan doors and yuppy strollers while talking on the cell phone and putting their kid into a car seat. No respect for other's property...

when I had a new-ish car I would park WAAAAAAYYYYY out in no man's land so I didn't have to worry about people dinging it with their doors or running shopping carts into it.
People can be very rude and selfish at times.

But there is a rule, whenever you park far out, no matter where you park on the lot, there is a small island of cars parked around you when you return.

My gosh. There isn't a way to keep the background from tiling in Yahoo SiteBuilder (I don't know HTML yet). At least that I know of. The help section was no help, and the option if it's in there isn't obvious. What a bunch of bullhoey.
So if you have your monitor set to a higher resolution the background repeats and looks like crap. I'm telling SB to make the friggin page size 2,000 x 2,000 but noooo, it insists on tiling the background image at like 1200x 1000! The background image is 2k x 2k just for grins!
For now I'm having to go through each of my webpages one by one and manually change the background to a solid color and paste the background element and navigation bar in. Not fun when you have like 50 pages! At least the pages I've done so far work on a variety of resolutions without getting all stupid on me.
I hate computers right now :)

That's what's nice about CSS, you can make a single spreadsheet that all the other pages use so if you just change that single document, all will change. But you gotta learn HTML first.

our highway ramp is set up in a mind-numbingly stupid way... 3 lanes wide, with an on ramp and an off ramp in the same place. At 65 mph.
So when I try to merge into traffic and someone is in my blind spot and I can't look over my shoulder without risking slamming into the person in front of me while they slow down to exit, it is very not-fun! yuck.

I'll tell you what I hate....living with smokers. Back in high school, Mom smoked so much around the house that my closet took on the smell, and everyone at school thought I smoked.
Now I think she's back at it again, I'm feeling sick to my stomache because I smell of smoke.
What's the best way to take care of this problem? Does Fabreeze really work?

Patrick - try to restrict her to smoking in one room. That's what I did with my housemate when he started smoking again. He's only allowed to smoke in his bedroom, cos I really don't wanna smell like an ashtray. Might be tough, but try to get her to see your point - that it's not very good for your professionalism if you stink! Although the majority of smokers really can't see the problem, which drived me crazy!

Does no good, the smoke travels to other rooms. One time I was asleep in my bedroom with the door closed and the scent somehow heavily lingered upstairs (vent/under door etc.) What's completely silly about it is that she's only here like two days a week.
