So, what kind of people really jerk your chain? For me, it's rudeness or those people who like to think they're god's gift to the human race. Fundamentalists bother me too; the die-hard type that can't think for themselves, think all the answers to life are written out in "The Book" and they insist you must follow "their way". Also drivers who are in such a hurry to pull in front of you then stop to make a turn a quarter mile away. They need slapped. People who won't clean up after their dogs in public places. People with rotten breath that insist on speaking close to your face. Have a mint for Christ's sake or see a damn dentist and get those gums sandblasted. There's more but it's your turn.

Government employees also walk away slowly with my goat. They seem to get gobs and gobs of money and perks for doing sweet fork all. They don't actually DO any work, just delegate, and have "meetings"

Here's my list of people that I don't like. It might be considered racist, discriminatory or even vindictive, but I belive I have the right to speak my mind, and if you don't like it, you can fight me for it.


1. I don't like illegal immigrants that milk the system for all of it's benefits, and give nothing back.


2. I am sick of foreigners that choose to live in my country, yet speak none of it's official languages.


3. I am sick of government leaders which follow their own agendas, or do what is necessary to save "face", or allow companies to exploit the human race for the benefit of a few billion in their bank accounts.


4. I would honestly like to legislate the media, so that they could only broadcast factual information. Also, the ratio of negative type stories vs positive, would be 20 - 80 percent, instead of all the 95% BS we see now


5. Women drivers. Sorry, but I think they are in their own little worlds on the road, in which no other cars exist.


6. Punk-arsed kids. No respect. No fear of consequences. No drive or ambition. Make military service mandatory for 2 years as reservists or national guard. AND it has to be a combat arm, none of this "driver", or "admin clerk" crap.


7. Fat people. Stop eating you fat bastards. Stop wearing anything remotely form fitting. Wear a toga or something like that, until you get in shape. You are a waste of resources.


8. Stupid people. Likely on welfare, and are also milking the system. Stop breading. You are weakening the human race.


9. North Korea, the middle east, Chechnya, Certain Baltic and Mediteranean States, South and middle Africa. Do everyone a favor. Point that AK-47 at your own head, and pull the trigger. It only takes one bullet, and you'll save money.


10. All those finicky, artsy-fartsy, elitistcliquish types that forget they are human beings, and place themselves on pedestals with the gods of olympus. You are still animals. You still have diarhea like the rest of us. Dump your attitudes and do something useful.


11. Whoever invented (accidentaly or on purpose), consumerism. Why do we chase around things we really don't need? Our materialist tastes are slowly destroying our planet.


12. I hate anyone that is unable to see a problem from more than their own perspective. You have no function on this planet, unless you work in an assembly line somewhere. People like this become fanatical, and have little benefits culturally, socially or otherwise.


13. Social rejects which lack morality. These are all those people that take the easy road when faced with a choice, or they hang someone out to dry, take advantage of someone to benefit themselves in an innappropriate fashion, etc. etc.



If I've missed anyone, it is because they were already covered in the above posts.

that has been a big beef with me. Plus what is up with couples with kids getting a child tax credit and us married couples with no kids get squat? how is that fair. Let's see... public school...taxes, busing.... taxes, child welfare department.... taxes. Since I don't have a kid...shouldn't I get the tax credi since I'm less of a burden on the system? This is such a great topic. I am going to list my peeves because there are plenty of them. Here we go. 1. People who preach to me that their religion is the way to go and all the other religions are not the way to go and how people in their religion make the right choices. (This goes with alittle problem I had with a friend of mine. SHe would always say that her religion was the only way and that people who don't believe in her religion will not be saved. ANyways, she made it out like she is miss princess who has not done anything against her religion but she is such a losser because she has done pot, had sex with anyone she can get her hands on, heavy drinker, smoker). That is just one. Number 2. I have a real problem with people who are rude. I work in customer service and I get rude people on a daily bases. 3. People who don't say thank you, like I want to deal with those kind of people. 4. CEll phones. I know pretty much everyone has them, but it is really a pain in the ass when your behind someone and they are driving very slow, or as I said I am in customer service, those people who come in and stand around talking on the phone and you are waiting paciently to wait on them. 4. Spoiled kids. THose kids who don't appreciate anything and are loud and obnoxious. 5. Those shopping carts with the plastic car attached to the carts. You can see these at a wegmans or a tops grocery store. I would probubly make my kid walk. What an embarrassing contraption for your kids to ride in. 6. And this is my last one for tonight. Those parents at the public library who get 50 books for their kids, and then proceed to say and this is an example, "Oh, Johnny, your such a good reader." AS the kid is reading out loud, with that voice that sounds like there is snot in their throats. It is truely a disturbing thing. WEll, that is my peeves.

So we were on our way home, I was way more wasted than her b/c she was driving, but she was buzzed enough to be stupid with me. We SPRINT (in heels so we are LOUD AS HELL) to the bathroom. Anywho, we walk outside, and I see one of those ridiculous looking carts with the "schoolbus" on the front. So I say to my friend (and keep in mind we were inebriated),"Kisha! I wanna ride that!" and she goes, "Giiiirl, get in . I'll push you!!" So for about 10 minutes, we are drunkingly pushing each other around in this schoolbus lookin' cart. In the parking lot of Kroger. Laughing histerically.

Women don't bond the same way that guys do. As such, the cut and defined definition of a friend to a guy, is often hazy and different whendealing with females. To prove my point: A male, no matter how close or best of friends they are, would never have sex with that friend.


A best friend couple consisting of a male and female, does not hold true to this. If given the opportunity, that guy would have sex with the female. Period. This automatically prevents them from being true friends, since on the back of the guy's mind, due to a million years of genetics, he's thinking "Mate, Mate, Mate, Mate", if only on a subconcious level. This way of thinking adds a different perspective to the relationship, should the opportunity arise.

When ppl email me pics...but do they just attatch a simple jpeg file...NOOOOO they have to place the picture in word, or powerpoint or something off the wall like that and send it to me. I would understand if it was part of an actual document and they were too lazy to send the pics so they just forwarded that file, but NO...they go to the trouble of opening "Word" or whatever and place the pic in there...save it and then send it to me. Maybe I am really a badly tempered person, but I find when there are rude people who are just down right nasty to you, I am all about getting in their face and saying to them what I really feel. I guess it is bad when your a Customer Service specialist. Whatever the hell that means. Anyways, other things that piss me off is guys who just assume that women go after guys for their money. Makes me sick. I look for more in a guy then what he makes. Who gives a sh*t as long as he works. Another thing is, people who only like to hear themselves talk and not listen to anything you have to say. Another one is how I have to go to a freakin wedding in May of 2004 that will have 600 people at it and I have no friggin excuse to give my cousin and his women to get out of it.

Salespeople......need I say more? Let me clarify....Ad SalesReps!Here are some reasons why I say this in my 7 years of experience dealing with different ones:


1. BACKSEAT DESIGNERS (as Joe nicely put the term in a previous thread! GREAT!!)


2. Think they know EVERYTHING about what you are doing!


3. Fax over the copy for the ad to you and it is VERY clear what they want, but they feel they need to call and explain to you AGAIN (same goes for leaving notes on your desk..and then asking you if you got the note...as if you could miss that BRIGHT YELLOW sticky note left on top of your keyboard!)


4. When faxing ad copy overtheywrite on there "Leave room for a header, I will find the art" Umm...ok...WTF is that? I appreciate the help but let's face it...you find sh*t and the ad looks like sh*t. The art is low res, stretched to hell and back...but do what you want...who cares! ehh umm...


5. Also when faxing ad copy--list what font and point sizeyou want. Ok...WHO ARE YOU TALKIN TO HERE??They don't even know what is serif and san serfi..WTF!


6. Doing the layout themselves for the double truck of the monthlyHispanic newspaper....umm...ok...you really don't get much creativity with newspapers, but when you do get a chance as a designer you would like to take advantage of it and make it look good instead of doing the same boring blocky thing in every issueevery month bc YOU wanted to getyour hands into it and make yourself feel like a designer---which you are NOT because you are a sales person. GRRRR


7. When their sh*t is dueon tue afternoon at 5pm...so that it can be deigned in time for wed when I start the layout at 7am!! I mean 1 or 2 ads acceptable on wed morning...but 10 or 11??? Whattt! a$$holes!


8. And finally...wanting to blame the designer when their ads go to press, the issue is out and their is a wrong price or a mispelled word. Now the defenseI use, and it works now is "If you proofed the ad...and I didn't get it back with changes that needed to be done, then how the hell am I suppose to know it needed fixed??? $@&amp;% ("")!!! It's not my fault so you need to accept responsibility!

We have 4 projects: A Soft Drink, and Candy Bar, Cell phone, and Perfume. And there are 4 jobs: The Art Director (does the package), The Graphic Designer(does the magazine ad), the Illustrator (does the logo), and the Photographer (the outdoor ad). </LABEL>

So I meet up with Adele (a fellow member) to help her with her ad, i had finished the logo, and Adam (other groupie) was doen with his. It just so happens Adam works at a printing company, so he gets all of our files printed for us. The plan was to give me the files by Sunday @ 3and I woudl go drop them off at Adam's b/c he lives down the street from me. Clarence (our art director this time) is SOOOOO lucky I checked my email before I left to go to Adam's b/c I got: "Please wait to send the files. They are not done, and will not be done until 7 pm." I'm like oh ***** no..but me being nice, I wait aroudn til 7.....7:30.........8..........8:30......FINALLY i get the files, but they are Quark 6, I have 5, so i figured, Ok i'll copy them to a disc anyway, it should work. I go To adam's drop off the discs, with anote. Email him again when I get home to send him the "AD's" files just in cse the disc files didn't work......</LABEL>

Mine and Adele's are fine, but the AD's have no fle extension, is not recognized by any program, and we can't get in touch with him. We are all furious, b/c this guy is so last minute. So Adam finally gets in touch with him and his excuse is "I'm sorry i don't know what happed I was rushed." Wtf you were rushed? You were at school for 4 ours yesterday, and 6 hours on saturday. So, now they are going to be printied witha rush on them at school tomorrow, which was NOT the plan, b/c tomorrow the only thing we were to do was mount our boards, and wrap the choclate in the colored foil. </LABEL>

Ok, my post on the group project a few posts back. We had are HUGE presentation today. NOT ONLY DID OUR ART DIRECTOR SHOW UP 1 HOUR LATE (this is after calling the rest of us to tell us he would be -Adam-20 minutes late, Adele- 25 minutes late, and me-30-35 minutes late) HE DIDN"T HAVE HALF OF THE PACKAGE DONE!!!!!!!!!! So we get our grades back, I get the highest for the logo, but b/c of clarences grade, mine dropped. I'm so pissed. Hey while were on the subject of things that piss you off, I got my boss at my old job fired, this idiot thought he was the sh*t, the company I was working for was paying him 60k a year, and this guy couldn't get bleed down to save his life, flippin moron actually, anyways after about 15-25 jobs that got screwed up,meand the other production artist went into the big bosses office and explained to them that this guy had been jerking there chain the whole time, that he didn't know ANYTHING about print, or production. Anyways so they fired him, then took back our old finisher who had left 4 months prior ( who was a janitor in his past job, no college education) and hired him on as manager of our department, this kid was 21, no experience, anyways make a long story short I left shortly after that, mainly cuz they turned off my internet connection because I was surfing to much, (im like, go F yourself you pieces of sh*t, I have never missed a deadline, my work gets done, I need resources to draw ideas off of) well they never did turn on my internet, I left 2 weeks later.


So my question is this, this old guy (our original manager) had like 3 degrees in graphic design, one degree was from like some HUGE college, I wanna say yale or harvard but I know its not those. Anyways how do people like this get jobs? After he got fired he moved out to san diego, and from what I hear is managing another color department. So why and how do people like this survive in our industry? I think it is utterly disgusting that someone that stupid can get paid 60k a year, anyone, anyone, anyone??? His nickname at my old work was "Spongebob" cuz he was seriously that fricking stupid, you would tell this guy something, and literally 10 seconds later ask him what you just told him, and he wouldn't have the slightest clue what you were talking about.

Hee he - I was going to make one cuz when I first saw it it cracked me up too, luckily I found it on the interweb. It's great.


I just did a sticker order three times cuz i got the postal code wrong, but each time i printed it - I got something else wrong. And it was a REALLY time consuming print run. 3 times. ARRGH!


THEN an order of 1000 full colour business cards - 2 sided - i got the title wrong (it was supposed to be CDA instead of CGA cuz I can't read this friggin woman's handwriting) Again - bloody time consuming print run the I have to do over again cuz I got it wrong. Dagnabbit!! Gawram Heck!

And usually we do proofs and get them to sign them off but these were such minor changes I thought, "A hell, what can go wrong.." Doh!!!! what an idiot.

I did that on my step-brothers business cards...I misspelled the kind of wax he uses when he details cars. Well...I don't know anything about that stuff....I just took his copy he emailed me and copied and pasted it into my doc and then fixed it all up...I figured he knew how to spell the brand of wax he uses. But that was wrong and one of the phone numbers were wrong and my dad, my step brother and his mom ALL PROOFED IT and said it was good to go. I get em printed...500 of em..and then they are like "the wax is spelled wrong" DUHHHH!!!

D-Frag - going back to your story about your creative director and him getting fired... We actually thougth that was going to happen with our dept, too. HR actually called all of us into a meeting seperately to discuss how we feel about our department's management. We all basically said the same thing. And it wasn't good (for her, anyway). But, 3 months later, she's still there, and I've gotten the impression that this company would rather keep 1 bad manager and lose 4 great designers, cuz that's the road they're headed down. I'm looking for a new job, so is another girl, and the other two are seriously thinking about it. And another person in our department is looking, too. All because of her. We've all discussed it. We love what we do there, but the management really messes things up. It's rediculous.


I promise you all I can quit bitching about all this when either she leaves, or I get a new job, and I think the new job will come long before. But hopefully very soon... Then hopefully my posts will be about flowers and rainbows... :o)

Hey D-zine, sorry to hear about your vehicle. Does it have an alarm system in it? They have somme that detect if someone is just a few feet away and asks them to leave, if they don't then the alarm sounds. It is worth the money especially in Savannah and Atlanta. Lot's of cars get taken in both cities.


When i bought my wife her Mercedes (pre-owned) it had no alarm system, so we put on in that disalbes the vehicle if they do not use the ignition key. Good stuff to have, believe it or not even in a small town like Statesboro we have a high nyumber of auto break-ins and thefts, even in broad daylight.


I wish I would catch soeone trying to get into one of our cars, they would be a shot and dying thief....

Thanks Allen :o) My Rav doesn't have an alarm sys...I got it in July from a guy who had it on a lease...he had JUST turned it in. I have the kit, just have to get it installed. I truely hate people who are rude and can't say please or thank you. Not sure why that pisses me off so much, but it gets under my skin if people don't appreciate what I am doing for them.


Another thing that ticks me off to no end are those people who can't cover their mouths when they sneeze or cough. Its great when you work in the food service and coworkers do that, its the best!
