Hey guys,
Been awhile since I've had the chance to go out and take some pics. So I braved the frigid temperature today and got a few pics of some common birds in the area. I did spot a Rough Legged Hawk and a Northern Harrier but they were too far to get any decent pics.
So Black Capped Chikadees, Downy wood peckers and Sparrows had to do Smile

We have heaps of sparrows in NZ - they're probably our most popular bird, but I aint' never seen them that fat! What do you feed them over there?

The one that looks fat has trapped air in it's feathers to keep warm...much like we use a blanket :)

well, I guess they're "ok".
:p lol - nice work Tyger! It can be really tricky to catch birds on camera before they take off. These are great shots.

That must be it :) It doesn't really get cold in my city. So our sparrows are skinny wee things!

Great shots! I like the last one because the bird appears to be giving the camera a disgusted, sarcastic look!

They're excellent! What camera do you use?
I use a Canon Digital Rebel XT along with a 100-400mm lens.
Thanx for commenting all it was great to get out again, I think the cold scared me off awhile but I've got the good ol' photobug brewin' again :)
