Time to evaluate the new guy's website.

Hi. I've been redesigning my site for the past two weeks, and I thought it was time for some constructive feedback. Mostly, my site's purpose is to promote my photography store/design skills and make a few bucks on the side. I've also added Google Ads of late(I hope they're not too annoying). Thoughts? I like the theme. I did get confused however on a few things.

1. When I click the links to your stores it's a totally different look and feel. Maybe you link to your stores from within the portfolio section by showcasing them as web projects. I don't know, just kind of confusing.

2. I like your flash portfolio, but again I feel like I'm in a new site. I know you have your branding at the bottom, but maybe you integrate it into the templates you use for the home and about pages. I guess I was confused on this page because of the top navigation being gone. Also it's not entirely clear how to get back to the main section of the site.

A few more things:

Your body copy needs a little more line height or leading. It's a little cramped. About, Article pages.

Your contact form needs a little more margin, I feel.

Basic stuff to fix, I think the google ads are fine, there on the bottom of the page and out of the way. Everybody needs to make a buck.;)

Over all I like the look, I especially like your drop caps maybe use them more where you have larger chunks of text.

Yeah, the stores are difficult because I can't really do much about their look and feel. I was hoping the pop up windows would make the navigation a little more bearable. As for the Flash portfolio, I'll probably tweak it in time.

First thing I'd do is take the ads off the bottom. In my opinion they cheapen they site.
Secondly, I am confused. There's way too much stuff going on here, all these links to different sites and to content that I'm assuming you didn't create(games?) There is no real focal point for this site.

I think your flash portfolio is pretty well done - have you thought about embeding that directly into the site, or just going with that and having all your links in there instead?
Right now I'm not getting "Simple."
