Hi Everyone,
Can anyone recommend some remote image capture software? I am using a Nikon d100 in my office. I would like to hook directly to my computer to take studio shots. I know Nikon makes image capture 4, but I am looking for 3rd party software, preferably with a 30 day try-out. I can't seem to find what I am looking for with Google, but I might not be using the right search words.
Thanks!

Capture One Pro only supports the nikon camera in the RAW mode, not the tethered mode. Any other suggestions, I need to be able to run the camera through the computer.

If you take studio shots, what's the problem about using RAW?

I already shoot in RAW format. I need a program that wll let me plug the camera directly into the computer, and then I can control the camera via the computer, and shoot/view the files instantly (I think it's called tethering-I'm not sure though). Right now I shoot all the pictures and then copy the files to my Hard drive and open in Adobe Raw.
I have seen this type of software used in photo studios, it would make my workflow soo much easier if I could shoot and see the images instantly. I shoot a lot of glassware that has intricate etching patterns, and it's hard to tell if my focus/depth of field is perfect until I load the photos into PS. The Phase One capture looked perfect, only the tethered portion of the software is not compatible with Nikon (Or so the website says).

Ah, I have Canon so I wouldn't know. But in my case, it worked great. You can see the picture a few seconds after it is shot by the camera. I have also observed the software in use by a professional photographer on location with a laptop. Makes it easier when there are ADs and stylists eager to see the result at once, and then comment on the pictures directly.

The phase one software should allow you to shoot tethered but you will need the Pro version ($500US) and a ton of RAM. It's a hog. Other than that you're pretty much SOL. Although Nikon did just update their capture software so you might want to try that.
Good luck
