website mock-ups

i'm making an update to my current website - www.aesthetic-design.co.uk (http://www.aesthetic-design.co.uk)
i'm trying to make it more search engine friendly and as such have included a lot more text, please check out the mock-ups that i've made and stored on my flickr account (http://farm1.static.flickr.com/171/393120478_4f5a5eeea8_o.jpg)
any advice on what i should do to make it more attractive would be great,

Goodness! That must be the most mature style design wise I have ever seen done by a 16 year old! Consider it a job well done.

Only thing that bugs me are these white strips that stick out. They may be a design element, but they look messy to me. I've made them yellow here to show what I mean - maybe they don't look like that on your browswer? I'm on Firefox.

Oh and your date layout isn't consistant. Top one is DD/MM/YY and the second one is MM.DD.YY. Pick one and stick to it.

budafist - oh my god! i never realised that there was a problem, which firefox are you using? it functions fine on mine which is the most up-to-date version, the date was just a typo that i never got round to fixing - being from england, many people have asked how it can be the 13th month!

ok guys, i've made an advance on the mock-ups but have made a big change, its hosted at beta.aesthetic-design.co.uk/ (http://beta.aesthetic-design.co.uk/)
its not finished yet, but any input would be great
