I'm working remotely for a publisher, and they send me in Photoshop EPS advertisement files for me to place in Quark, the photoshop files are fine but when I go to make a PDF of the page everything is pencil sharp except for the ad? I use their PDF settings but the ad almost looks broken up and pixelated when you magnify. This is doing my head in and I've been trying to get to the bottom of it, without success.

anyone have any ideas

Have you checked to see the linked graphic files are not broken?
Or is your viewer setting in Quark set at low?

What version of Quark? How exactly are you making the pdf?

If you are making these PDF's for print, make sure you do not have any downsampling turned on in your PDF settings in Quark.

Thanks to everyone who contributed, I think its resolved now, after extensive chats with the studio, who's knowledge about distiller setting was limited, I then had a chat with the print house, and as it turns out the publishing house didn't give me the full settings required for output. I've done some tests and there looking positive and everything will be signed off tomorrow

thank again
