I have a picture that has been edited once after the original scan. if the picture was edited, but the original thumbnail was there, is there a way i can get the picture back to its original scanned version ?!

If the graphic was saved over the original scan then you are out of luck.

Do you mean a Photoshop thumbnail? If so, the thumbnail should refresh to its new self after you quit and restart Photoshop. For the heck of it did you double check to see if you have the option to "revert"?

If you've saved and closed the image window you are hosed. If you've saved you may still be able to undo whatever it is you've done that you didn't want to do. Up to a point. Did you check your History palette?

Can't you just rescan?

no .. wish i could just rescan ..

emm .. yeah i saved over it and closed the program .. there's no way i can revert..

i just had hopes that i could remove the edited parts.. since the thumbnail hasn't changed yet..

If I may suggest, in the future do all photo editing on seperate layers. Its a worthy habit to get into.

Those are some great habits to get into. After major work on a photo I'll always save it as scanB.tif, then scanC.tif etc.
Most times after the original scan, I'll first do an image/colour balance and save that as a revision, so I've always got the original scan to fall back to.
