Cool Kool :) Now the rest of us gotta get moving on it!
Here's mine. I just needs some tweaking... I think.:)
Anybody who knows me knows I love mountain biking. This is a modified picture of my bikepath in the fall.
I thought it also made a nice "path to recovery" theme.

That's really quite strange how you've made me think of the Ozric Tentacles yet again. I'd not thought about or listened to them in years until after I listened to your music piece that you posted a week or so ago and I mentioned them. Your calendar contribution (which I really like) reminds me of some of their album art too! Not sure who did thier album paintings for them though, but they are British as is Rodger Dean, so maybe their artist is also a Rodger Dean fan.

Someone called Blim did them. I can't seem to find any info about them though other than the name. He/she or they were definitely influenced by Rodger Dean though. :)

I'm really excited to be part of this project. I'm always on this forum and really enjoy the challenges. I had a week in July, so I decided to create a page that features one of my favorite places, St. Augustine, FL. This is a downtown street in the middle of March, but I airbrushed the sky for a nicer view. The city is the oldest in the USA and has a big fort on the coast that the Spanish would shoot canons from. Its very pirate-y, arg! The buildings are all repurposed homes and they've created a cool downtown area with them.

Hi Farah, My advice is that you should work in CMYK as this is how it will be printed.
The date boxes on the right are not spaced correctly. See how Friday and Saturday are too close together? They also need to be centred on the page. This looks like includes bleed so there will be a few mm that will be trimmed off the edges. Keep important info well away from the edges.

I've changed my calendar page. Mr Kool has been kind enough to update the image in both showcases to the new version. I wasn't happy with the original being such an "in joke" for the GDF when the calendar is being sold to the general public, so I opted for an illustration I did based on the bass and treble clef. hi guys. looking at the calendar i found that mother's day is may 11th in 08, im not sure if we should put that on the calendar, because maybe some countries do not celebrate mother's day or atleast not on the same day, can anyone from uk or buda confirm this? just thought about that now. so i tried to do a child's drawing to represent mother's day... and made sure my color theory was out of wack and i wrote with my left hand (im right handed) to help make my handwriting very elementary.
maybe if i have some more time ill whip out a different theme for my week sometime soon.

I was outside my girlfriend's office waiting, so I decided to pull out my camera, which happened to have my 100mm macro on it. I was amazed at how much the petals sparkeled in the sunlight, and with such dark green leaves this shot really stood out, but more than that, I was surprised that I had never looked at an iris that closely before.
Glad you all like it.:)

Ok, finally, I am ready to post my final page...I know its not one of the 4 images that I posted in the poll, I was worried about copyright issues with the "summertime" song version and there was one image in the collage which I could not get an OK on, so I started over (again!) This time I used my own prose (i wrote it about 7 yrs ago after putting my son to bed and standing at his crib for about 20 minutes, being amazed at his existence and then hung it on my bulletin board) :o

After much painting and nearly 100 digital layers....walla! Any comments? critiques? It's been forever since I painted anything, and this is the first time merged with digital. I also took the photo along the Mississippi River. Much photo manipulation (colors and intensity) and lots of tweaking on the painting to not show as much texture and still keep the detail. oy. I also wrote the small prose - poetry is not a strong point of mine in any terms so I hope it reads ok.

Just a typographical niggle, though. I'd open up the leading on the poem just a teeny bit so that the descender's on the f don't touch the dots on the i. And it looks like you might want to switch to a typographer's quote on the word dawn's. Maybe you could use fi and fl ligatures on the fiercenes and flight? :)
