video in flash

Hi..
I am shortly to begin work on a Flash based teaer email for a record company and theywant a video clip included.
Obviously im not going to embed the movie into the Flash file but rather link it externally from an FTP.
Whats the best way of doing this? and what would be the best type of video file to use? (is this info on the web somewhere?)

You need to import the video into Flash from ...

File/Import/Flash Video

And follow the procedure. You have many options on size, quality and sound ect. It will play the video on your stage and an FLV in your library. Keeps the swf file size small too.
