My department set up all of our standard templates as AIT files so that the minion hordes couldn't save over them instead of just locking AI files. Normally not a problem, except that now we need to make an update to every single file. I have a loverly batch script to do it, except that the save action won't work because it opens up the file as "untitled-XX".
I used automator to just change the extension of all the files from AIT to AI, except that they still open as "untitled-XX".
Anybody ever heard of a way to change an Illustrator template back to a normal file? ? ? (outside of opening them all up remembering the name, finding where to save it again, typing the name of it, and saving it  )

Nevermind, I solved it
(changing the extension on a PC changes the file-type to a normal AI, but not on a MAC)
So now I have to take and just resave all of my "not really ai files" on a PC and then it works fine on a mac. Cake.

I'm interested, where are the minion hordes coming from?
