Hey There
I have just been shown how to use the action feature in PS. Would be several months younger if had of learnt that on my course!
Anyhoo my question is; is there any way to import a set of steps from history to save as an action rathert than recreating.
cheers

not that i know, they still have the record function, which would leave me to believe they have not gotten to that point yet. maybe in cs3, i don't know, im not beta testing it right now.

buuuuuuuut, they have a neat little feature in the history palette called a "snapshot" which basically saves the state of the image, and you can always revert back to the original, or the snapshot. best part is you can take lots of shapshots. read up about em, there just as useful and cool as actions

Except one problem with snapshots is that they are not saved with the file. They are great, for sure, but only stay as long as you keep the file open.

was more thinking of using the Action in different documents.
I am a screenprinter and have to adapt PSDs to a screenprint friendly state.
Sometimes there is a bit of trial and error and hope that when i hit upon a winner i could just create an action from X amount of steps from the history

might wanna try http://www.equipmentzone.com/fastrip.html FastRip has some nice photoshop actions for doing color seps. Don't know if you can get it to make other films though without the Epson printer.
