Hello my new found friends that I have never met before.

I am giving this place a shot, I've been looking for a good place to discuss my passion with. Browsing through your forums I see that there are some pretty serious people here (i.e. passionate about what they do)!

My rig:

PC - Dual Boot: Windows XP SP2 / Windows Vista
ASUS A8V-E Deluxe
AMD 64 4000+
ASUS ATI Extreme AX850XT PE
2 GB Samsung RAM
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum
A lot of HDD space, just, a lot...
Dual (very crappy, ickky ickky ickky) 19" Rosewill Monitors (I will be fixing that soon)
Innovatek (http://www.innovatek.de/) Water Cooling System

Now to all of you PC haters, just fyi, I am also a tekkie (which is why I don't have a mac: 1) PC's are cheaper, 2) You can't upgrade macs as easily and can't play and tinker like I do, may I suggest the Red v. Blue Mac switch parody (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qakaWwWyFsE)). So being a tekkie, I know how to keep my PC in the crash-free-green-zone! I can have Photoshop CS2, Illustrator CS2, Premier Pro 2.0, and Encore DVD all up and running crash free. .. Premeir to edit the Encore DVD video files when needed, Photoshop to edit the Encore DVD menues, Illustrator to edit the vector objects in my Photoshop menu.

Those that say PC's crash all the time probably used or owned a Dell ;) hehe...

Anyway, I don't bash Macs, I respect them and think they are a great machine, just not my preferred machine is all. But since this forum isn't pc vs. mac... i hope we can all agree that I can be just as creative on a PC as I would be on a mac (unless you are on a dell pc).

I'm sure it will be a pleasure to meet all of you, and I hope I can stick around!

welcome to GDF, teejnits.

We don't argue mac/pc here at all... it's against our forum policy.

Check out the threads posted here when you get a chance!

Excellent, I am still very new to forums in general... that being said I didn't think to look for a forum rules place... Thank you for directing me there, I will take a look at them today! (is a newb)

That is a good one, Ned. I say this as a Mac user.

Clearly, he doesn't know how to use a Mac, however. I can force quit a program with that keyboard combination with two fingers of the same hand. :p

Well... Just try teaching people how to use the Adobe keyboard shortcuts... Like making a selection with the CMD and OPT modifier keys (which do something different depending on whether you click first or after), and the spacebar to move the selection around.

You'd be surprised just how much trouble people have with these things, without a LOT of practice.

No, I'm not surprised, I'm just old. :p Plus the fact that I play piano as well, some of the ways I do keyboard shortcuts mimic some of the piano stuff I do. At least that's how I look at it.

Anyhoo, funny video, albeit vastly inaccurate. Then again, there are probably many inaccuracies directed towards the Windows platform as well.
