I'm so pissed I'm shaking... Maybe I'm over reacting but I need to vent for a second.
My coworkers and I were sitting around making plans for lunch today and everyone was really busy so they decided that I would run over to Wendy's and pick up everyones lunch so they could continue working.
As I pull back into our parking lot, there are every freakin' one of them heading out to their cars. I asked them where they were going, to which they replied "We're going out to lunch." They literally left me holding the bags.
I wasn't even invited to go with them. To me that's just rude!
Am I over reacting?

That would piss me off! Did they give you money for their food?

What did you say to them? I'd save thier burgers until they get back and make them eat them or better yet go and shove them up thier car exhausts. That's shocking behaviour! Did they pay you before you went to get them?

WOW.
I would be collossally pissed and had it out with them right there. Was this a prank or is there some sort of office tension going on with one of the workers?
Did they know you were going to Wendy's for them? That is unbelievable.
To me they're obviously trying to send you a message. It's up to you to figure out what it is by taking your working relationship with these people into account.
THEY sent you for the food, and then THEY leave and don't ask you to come?
There's a message in that for sure.

Do you still have your stapler? ;)
Seriously though, that sucks. Did they know you were going to get lunch for them?

Y'think? ;) I'd be plotting some spiteful and sweet revenge about now. I'd pick out the ringleader (or the most popular among them) and make "an example" out of them.

I'd just hide the food inconspicuously around or in their desks. So that in a week or two they'll remember what they did to you.

You're not overreacting. I'd be furious too. I would divvy up their food and leave each meal on their respective desks along with an invoice letting them know how much they each owe you for going out of your way to get them lunch. Perhaps with a kind note, "Next time you send me for food then go out to lunch and don't invite me, you'd better lock your car doors and close your windows because your upholstery will be ruined by the food you sent me for."

Something similar happened to me a few years ago. I went to Wendy's with my husband and didn't bring food back for everybody. Well, the passive aggressive ring leader was so furious with me that she threatened everyone in the office if they talked to me. This went on for weeks. I had no idea that it was about the Wendy's. I was so confused. My picture was even on the front page of the town newspaper for my music stuff and noone said a word. Finally one morning I couldn't take it anymore and walked in and quit. That's when my boss told me what was going on. I ripped him a new one, quit and then wrote a letter to the elderly owner of the company (whose son was my boss) and let him know everything. It was awful. I feel bad for you. It took me weeks to get the message that everyone hated me. Take the hint early and start job hunting. That was a mean and cruel stunt to pull on you. For one reason or another, they don't seem to like you. That doesn't mean there's really something wrong with you. There's nothing wrong with me, I was just working with backwoods people. To prove how backwoods they were, when the twin towers got hit, I walked in my office and told everyone and the ring leaders only response was "Oh, I hope some black people were in there." To which I replied "You ignorant bitch" and walked out. She never did like me after that.

 Too bad she wasn't there, even after the fact. She wouldn't have been sputtering out of her bigotted piehole then.
Sorry you had to go through that. Y'know what, I wouldn't have quit, I would've gone out of my way to make her life a daily living hell. I would've thrived on it actually.

Not much is going on. I'm keeping to myself for now, getting my work done and waiting for the weekend. Hopefully I'll cool off by Monday.
I don't think it has to do with not liking me (at least in this case). They just didn't think about asking me if I wanted to go since I had already bought my lunch as well. If they do hate me and are trying to get me to quit that wouldn't be wise on their part since I'm the server administrator and no one else knows the passwords. :)
Oh yeah, they had given me the money for their food before I left. So no worries there.

well i guess you got full at lunch today. I think on monday you should collect for lunch for everyone then just go somewhere nice by yourself on there dime.

If it was on purpose, it's straight up childish. Let's hope it's an misunderstanding.

You really need to approach them about that though if only to clear the air. What's the rationale behind such a maneuver...the mind boggles.

Kick some ass, man. Seriously, you go get them lunch and they dis you like that?
I'd have tossed their burgers on the parking lot ground right there and called them out.
A misunderstanding?
How can you forget you already paid someone to go get your lunch?

If they have internet passed through you - you can always disallow certain sites they visit. or just conveinently drop their connection during breaks. You know do it randomly so they have no clue.
At least you didn't get rippedoff on the money as well.

I didn't see this till now, but dude!! this is a frickin sweet idea!!
They'll think you are a total chump and snicker when they hand you the money, like they just got a cheap laugh.
Then show up with a doggy bag of a few bites of some very upscale restuarant that everyone likes.
dude, Gary, you are a genius!!!

i don't know, at first i thought, obviously done intentionally, but it's odd that they gave her money first. i would think if you really didn't like someone, you'd send them without cash so that you could pretend like you never sent them at all. that whole thing is really odd.
i don't know about everyone else, but i probably could eat a whole office's worth of wendy's so i'd have just gone to town trying to clog my arteries. plus that way if you find out it was intentional and mean spirited, and you wanted to leave the wendy's on their desk, at least you could have enjoyed it first. that would probably send a pretty clear message.

wow that is like pre-paying for gas at the pump and then driving off with out the gas. I wouldn't forget you are getting me lunch if I gave you money for it. I am so broke I can't pay attention. You should hire a midget manager to beat them after you body slam all of them.
