Hey Guys...ive been working on these 22x28 display panels....ive set the 11 page document up in quark and have designed the layouts in photoshop. I've been able to import the art on each page except for page 8....it keeps giving me an "unknown error -116" when I attempt to import it...anyone ever run into this problem? these are due to proof tomorrow and i'm in desperate need of any help...thanks so much!

Silly question.

Why if you designed multiple display panels in Photoshop are you importing them into a single Quark multipage doc?
The printer is okay with this?
Why not just send the Photoshop files?

As to your problem, Does the artwork import onto page 12? ie is it the artwork or the page in Quark? Also check that the Photoshop artwork doesn't have something hanging off it that exceeds Quark's doc size. Or exceeds 48" x 48". Quark used to have a thing about it that wouldn't allow placing of oversize art. You don't mention the version number.

i used photoshop for the drop shadows and different filters, but needed quark for the text...the version number is 6.1...all sizes are accurate

So did you try to add a page and try to import it there?
6.1 shouldn't have the size limit problem.

someone with a low post count over on Quark suggests trying to resave the Photoshop file (I assume it has layers?). Or checking to see if you can import a flattened version and work from there to see what is causing the trouble.

Quark 6.1 I don't believe handles layered files well. I think 6.5 does that. Can't remember....getting old.

yeah i deleted the page and attempted to reimport....i also just tried reimported the art onto page 1 as well to see if it was quark, but it's not working....it might be something with the art done in PS....but all the other peices of art i did worked fine

What type of file is it? jpeg, tiff, eps, etc. is what I mean.

Also check that you didn't inadvertently check 16 bit mode or that your source image wasn't 16 bit.

And when you do the resave, use Save As.

Let us know if you get it.

I was thinking if its a tiff then maybe you inadvertently turned on the lzw compression.

LZW doesn't usually do something in Quark to give you an error (but it sure does rip 'funny').

I've encountered a lot of problems with lzw files. So I always check that first. Actually, I don't lzw anything anymore cause of all the problems I get with it.
