[edit] I think this is in the wrong section, if one of the mods could move this to the web design section that would be great! Sorry about that
Hey everyone. I just went ahead and registered my domain, so I thought I would see what you think of my layout before I go too far ahead and upload everything. I have attached a quick screenshot. I feel it is quite bold with the black, but I don't want it to be overpowering to a client looking at my site.
I'm sort of going for a sleek/modern look for my site with a just a small retro touch thrown in (ie. my logo). I have the font set to Lucida Sans with Verdana and some other sans-serifs as a backup in my CSS. This is a tableless design, as I am quite frankly frightened by tables (I know that sounds odd, but I learned with divs). I've designed it at 750 px wide so that it fits on a 800x600 resolution, but still looks not bad centred on a 1024x768.
I don't have all my content filled in yet obviously. On the left side in the services section I plan on using small thumbnails as bullets for each section in the list. I just noticed the gradient bar on top of each section is a slightly different tone than the header, so I'll have to adjust that. I'm not completely sold on having that there, so I'm trying to come up with something else as well.
I'm also working on ideas for a short version of my logo. I was thinking about doing a glossy circular button with the '53' inside of it.
Any ideas or critiques are much appreciated! Thanks!
