Hi, I need to do loads of grafiks from Powerpoint into Illustrator.
I manage to get it in almost perfectly but, BUT. all the text comes in on seperate lines and the funny german letters with teh dots on צהצהצ make teh text split into yet another line. All teh text doesnt remain in one box as I would prefer it to. Is there a way to fix this? So my text comes in in one box and not split where those funny letters are each time??
Thanks in advance anyone.

How are you getting the text into Illustrator? Via making a PDF of the Powerpoint? Sounds like somehow the fonts aren't being embedded properly. I've also had some problems with certain fonts not making the transition very well.
Also, I think you're stuck with the fonts being on separate lines if you're opening the PDF up in Illustrator, however, you might have better luck just doing a copy and paste.

Yes, I wonder what you are doing to place the text into Illustrator.

Sounds like a copy and past job to me, I never figured a way around it. I'd rather do the text in Powerpoint anyway, works better in the long run if your going back to it anyway.

Thanks everyone.
Ive tried copying all the objects in the power point and also opening a pdf in Illu. It works when I highlight each text in each box and copy and paste that into iluustartor. But some grafiks have 40 seperate text boxes and I do about 20 of those. I was trying to get away round from "copy" "paste" sometimes it makes me feel like a monkey when I do it too long.
thanks again
Try copying the text in to note pad or the mac txt editor and then copy and paste it from there - it helps to remove any unwanted coding from the microsoft programmes.

thanks jam.
after been on a mac for 12 years we have pcs now. well macs and pcs.
ive saved it as a txt format but then the text still isnt clean it with teh funny german letters on another line. well teh more I type about this the more it seems to be a smaller problem and I should just get back into copy paste robotics.
Just out of interest is there a reason why your using Illustrator - do you have InDesign?

If you have the full version of Acrobat, you can save the PDF as either a Word file or a text file.
