What are your opinions about implementing 3D into online store web sites? What role do the modern 3D models play in online shopping? Do they help to attract buyer's attention?

depends on what you're selling.
porn - yes.
gift baskets - no.

Answering the question what we are going to sell, it should be pointed out we are going implement our models into apparel, jewelry, electronics and other online shopping web sites!!!

If done right it can.
in my eyes, if you're going to just have something to view a product and spin it around, and have to download some plugin for it... probably not much use or a very very limited appeal and loading times and seeming to "fit" within a sight provided it's done right.

Now an application I could see it really worth while is in online-manuals or customization. Like car sites have now if you will. Or say if it's an online electronics manual, something like an interactive piece where you can spin the object all axis, zoom in on buttons, or plug-ins, maybe have a way to practice hooking it up to your TV or something like that. It could be pretty powerful.

imo if you're just rotating something in space, a picture would probably do it as well, but faster, and more... comfortably Everyone knows what a picture is and how to look at it, most know copy/past, are familiar with it to some extent.

So if you can sort out my random thoughts. Using 3d applying to customizing products of some sort, or interactively doing/showing a process: yes. If you're replacing the picture: no, it's more of a gimmick imho (or at least I'm not seeing how it brings something elso or something better to the table).

If you visit our web site you will see 3D product view models developed by our team. Could you evaluate these models and tell what you think about them? Thanks in advance!
