Someone has asked me to create some websites that require a membership. I am fairly novice to website building arena. Is there templates I can learn from on this. Is there security issues that might come up that I should avoid the job? I hate turning away any work but what you don't know can hurt you. . .

I hate to underestimate but getting paid to learn and create is like killing two birds with one stone. I feel ambitious to work for it but afraid I will miss something and get my client in trouble.

Hope I am not being to vague. I just don't know how to give a quote if I am not really sure how much work it is going to take to learn how to do the project and execute it well.

Sounds like you need to get a developer in. I firmly belieive that it is ethically wrong to have a client pay for you to learn while working on their site. Untiol you know what your doing you shouldn't charge! You could also kill your reputation by messing this up and leaving problems that a developer will have to sort out and then charge the client a fortune.

It's a pretty complex thing you're after - there are off the shelf solutions that you can hack at - but you still need to know your stuff

i agree, do the design yourself but contract out tot a developer. This accomplishes 2 things

1. you get the job done right for the client quicker

2. you've now given a developer some work and they will be more likely to call you up when they need some design help, thus providing you more work, which means more money, which means more beer and burritos

Call around and get some quotes from back-end guys, before you quote on the project.

PM me if you need a few contacts. I know lots of them who could work with you remotely (they are all in Canada), if you don't know anybody in Orlando (in Florida, I only know musicians and entertainers).
