Thank you everyone for all your past help in giving me pointers on my design issues. I am designing business cards for my father's dental lab. What do you think of it? Any improvements needed?

i don't really get how dentistry is digital but....
the card is OK. To link this to the american idol thread.
it's ok but it doesn't wow me, i wasn't knocked out of my seat.

He operates a dental lab that uses CAD/CAM milling machines and the tooth cases are digitally rendered/manipulated after being scanned with a 3D scanner. It's well known within the industry so it won't be confusing to dentists (who are his clients).

I wanted a clean and basic design, nothing flashy. But do you have any specific suggestions how I could make it "jump out" if I were to go that route?

Thanks again for your help.

i take it this is specialised rapid prototyping/stereo lithography, right?

how 'bout a stylised illustration of a laser beam or mill shaping a tooth?

just my 2.3 yen...

I think it's fine for this industry. Only thing is if someone has a super long name (as many do in the dental industry in my experience), their email wont fit in the space you have allocated. Just something to consider.

Just a thought.. you could maybe put the website (Wite copy, centered) in the red band at the bottom. I say this because right now, the red band looks like an after thought.

I agree with your view of clean and basic designs.. I like crisp layouts. Does it have to be a one-sided card? If not, the reverse could be red (is that the official color choice of the business??) with the web page centered on it in white font.. just my ramblings...

i like the red band as it is. But if you must change it, how about it pixellating on the right hand side a little like the logo? just a thought.
