So this time I need to develope a logo for myself, using my first and last initials (J.C.). This is all vector of course. After lots of sketches I really liked the idea of a cube, and my initials lended themselves pretty well.

I also like the idea of something to throw a little twist into the image, I thought i had seen some type of optical illusion with a 3d cube, so i looked around and found this:

and so, this is my logo:

colors are changable, and the font beneath as well. Just mainly looking for your insightful cumments about the concept/creation.

I think the font really don't fit. Maybe try a font with somewhat square shapes, as this would mirror the shapes in the cube?

Agreed, the font does seem out of place.

Also, have you tried this logo in just black or did you start with the colours? The gradients are a little much for me.

I like the concept though. Nice work.

i agree that the font doesn't go with the block logo. i also have a hard time seeing the J. it almost looks like a backwards G. like FINN said it may lose something when you go to one color though. i like where you are going with this, good start.

yeah, it will need to look good in black and white also. What do you think about the angle of the cube? how we are not seeeing it straigh on, but rather a little turned (the J is a little bigger than the C)? I think i am going to try to one with it being perfectly semetrical also.

I'd like to see a better relationship of line weight between the foreground faces that form the initials and the back of the cube. Presumably, most of the change would have to come from lightening the weight of the initials. Worth a try?
