I was wondering if anyone has ever been to those one-day boot camps offered by Adobe to learn various programs (ie InDesign).
They have them in Toronto from time to time, and I've entertained the idea of taking a day off to subject myself to downtown rush hour morning traffic, all in an attempt at learning what basics they make available about such programs.
Or I could read a book, lol.
Just curious if anyone has heard of them and went and what they thought...

No I haven't. I've never heard of such a thing.
Are you sure they're not just trying to get you over there to:
A. harvest your organs
or
B. convert you to a cult?

I'm not familiar with the specific ones you're talking about Lisa. Are they free? Because those are usually just bait and switch kinda deals (i.e., a really long promo about why you should buy the product).

Well, I couldn't tell much about whether or not it's what I was saying, but then again, if it's free, I suppose it couldn't hurt to go, you could always just leave if that's what it turned into. I've been to hour long seminars at trade shows, and while there's some educational value to them, often it's just a bait and switch. However, that may not be the case for a day long seminar.

Yeah, no harm if it's free, but I wouldn't expect to learn amazing things from it.

I've been to one or two Adobe seminars, and while they are, obviously, trying to sell you their products, I've certainly learnt useful stuff at the same time.
Plus, they give you free pens. I love free pens.

Free pens!?! Where? We have to keep a close eye on our pens around here.
