This is for an aggregate equipment company. They deal a lot with crushing of rocks and bulldozers etc.

I gave him a very abstract logo (yet it was very professional and sleek in my opinion), but he's a very traditional guy and wanted a representation of the wheels of one of those machines. I didn't want to get too literal with this because-- well I shouldn't even have to explain why.

So here's what I came up with, a representation of the treads. I needed to use red, not by choice.

Crits appreciated as usual-- I'm pretty unsure of the text at this point. I know it needs work.

Tech as in IT comes to mind. I think the "shiny gradient" and the color of read is messin with it.

Case International manages to pull of a nice red without getting too close to "tech" http://www.oregonpatchworks.com/OPW/IMAGES/CUSTOM/TT_Case%20International.jpg

Definately try some more variations with the text and kerning, it screams IT to me with the current kerning and color.

When I say tech I mean as in silicon valey, which doesn't seem quite like the version of tech you'd be wanting to go for.

I think you're right; I'll drop the shine gradient and work on making it less techy

You could try a texture in the red circle. Grunge! Yeah grunge. At least it's relevant. If you keep everything else clean it won't look Grunge.

I like aggregate paths...
