I just thought about it and I don't know if The Emporers New Clothes is the classic I think it to be. Your image isn't showing up is what I meant!
Edit: It's showing now!
It's got a nice organic feel to is combined with an element of symmetry. I like to see that in nature as well! I like it!

drawing is a great skill to have if you are wanting to become a graphic designer. Push your self and keep up the work. You will change and only get better and better

>>but neither are as good as the first<<
Practice explaining WHY. What makes you think no. 1 is better-- and better for WHAT? It's hard to get too objective about doodles, but you can also learn a lot about design when you free yourself to explore with doodles and analyze the results.

It's hard to critique these works because they are just doodles. Have a go at drawing from real life. Then your success / skill can be measured by something.

Your doodles remind me of the doodles of a friend of mine from high school. Does your school offer art classes? I think if you enrolled in them then you would find a little more direction and be better able to take them to the next level. My friend ended up progressing his into a series of silk screens that were really cool. Then you could work in art class....and listen to your english lessons in english class!!

If this is your first real doodle, what did you do in all your English classes before high school? Come on, tell the truth. You must have doodled before this.

When I was having trouble drawing some bobble head concepts a few weeks ago a friend told me that drawing was kinda like baseball batting average. You are never going to be perfect - some drawings will be pretty good others will be trash can worthy - but the more you practice the more consistent your drawing skills will be. After not picking up a pencil and drawing for 5 or 6 years I am drawing like a .150 :D
