Read all about it here (http://english.pravda.ru/science/mysteries/07-02-2007/87167-alien_monster-0). And the video link has some rockin' music.

Now, I don't know about you, but I don't think I'd eat the thing in that video.

However, ufologists and scientists were greatly disappointed when they found out that the fishermen had eaten the monster. They said that they were not scared of the creature so they decided to use it as food. One of the men said that it was the most delicious dish he had ever eaten.

Don't worry, those fisherman will soon mutate into alien hybrids and help the overlord of Alpha Centauri colonize the planet and use humans as sex slaves and a source of food. Oh, shit. There goes the planet.

...overlord of Alpha Centauri colonize the planet and use humans as sex slaves ...

Not the tentacle rape again!

Wow... That is one strange looking creature!!

However, I don't see why Scientists would assume it's an alien? It's certainly a strange species mutation, but it's obviously a sea-living creature... so why would they think that it flew here on a UFO from another planet, through outer-space, and didn't evolve from sea-life? If anything, I would think evolutionists would jump on this before the UFOlogists!? Could this be another being evolving into another homo-sapien species?

Just goes to show the ignorance to science and advancement that these fishermen have. I really can't help but laugh hysterically whenever I think of them eating this thing though. Not because it's such an odd thing to eat, but because of the ignorance involved.

It's not even a mutation. I'm informed, by my conspiracy theory obsessed friend, that it's actually just a species of sturgeon that often develops markings that look like faces.

He also added that the story was relatively accurate for Pravda, in that they didn't completely make it up...

Y'know, Hewligan... I was just re-looking at that video, and my thought (which I was just about to post here), was "hey, that doesn't look like a face. That looks like the markings on the backs of some insects and sea-creatures, which look like faces, to scare away or confuse predators."

Thanks for confirming my suspicion. What gave it away, to me, was that the face was obviously on the BACK (or top) of the creature, not on in the front/bottom, where the real feeder and eyes would be.

It doesn't surprise me now that they ate it. They would've obviously known, because they would be able to see the sturgeon's real eyes and mouth on the sides and front of the head (they must've been purposely pulling a fast-one on us).

Looks freaky, but I agree, they look like markings only - not acutally facial features.

Would be grand to paint one of those things.

Am I the only one here that wonders what it tasted like?

It probably tasted... alien.

Probably tasted like a bottom feeder. :D

White meat, I bet.
