For anyone who cares I probably won't be around much for a while. I got a "job". One with a boss and "lunch breaks" and everything.

I was so frustrated last Thursday that I blew up and asked one of my clients (half joking/half serious) if he'd hire me. He said, "Yeah, when can you start?"
So I thought about it for a while and decided to try it out. It's very wierd working for someone else. It's not graphic design, so it doesn't conflict with my own company. It's application programming/interface design which, while different, uses many of the same processes that GD does.

And as an employee I think I suck. I'd fire me. "Doesn't work well with others" I'll bet they're thinkin'... What the hell is this "team" crap?
Let me go into grunt mode and leave me alone.
It's really kinda nice turning the brain off and only doing 1 task at a time for 8 hours a day..

I didn't NEED a job, but I sure needed a break. But I'm not getting one. It seems that when I'm "at work" people still call and order stuff, so I'm about 3 days behind in printing and designing stuff.

I don't think this will last long.

An Early Happy Friday morning to everyone!
I sure miss you guys! Already!

cool man, hope it works out. You might find more peace with yourself in not having to worry about stuff. I too have thought about going to work for someone else and just letting the online stuff run on auto-pilot. I work pretty much seven days a week and I when I am not working someone alwasy calls and needs something, i have gotten to the point of possibly hiring a answering service to field my calls, only thing then they pester me to tell me I have a call. With all the programming we have been doing it hasn't been as bad. I turn off the ringer onthe phone and only anser email that has to be answered.

Thank GOD it is Friday.

Nice to see Keyare gets up as early as mysefl! (LOL).

Good idea. Trust me - get a good answering service and you'l get a ton more done.
As long as they only call you once a day at a specific time.

Phone calls waste SO much time and knock you out of productive grooves that are sometimes difficult to get back into.

And people like talking to a human way more than an answering machine. I wish you could get an answering service that would answer stupid questions...

Now I know why you get up so early! So nobody phones you!!! : )

/emoticons/wink.gif Yup very rarely does the phone ring after 10pm or before 8am. I get most of my work done that needs my attention (design, programming, accouting, server maintenance, etc.).

Hey Keyare, could you shave down the number of clients you have for your print shop? Maybe this is what you needed...but you could still do printing on the side?
