Hi

I have created a form with fields for other users to complete. Once completed they can't save the form with the information included. This is becasue they only have Acrobat Reader.

Is there an alernative program to use or is there a workaround available. Looking on the web another forum states that Acrobat 8 will allow the creation of a form to be later edited and saved with reader. Does anyone know if this is correct

Thanks

Once the form is created they should be able to save the form with the data
included, but not Save As, which would make a new file. Reader 8 is supposed
to do this. Is there some security feature enabled on the form that is preventing
the person from saving?

Thanks

They can only print the doc or save the doc without any of thir inputted info. Just need them for inhouse job sheets so each one needs to be saved with the relevant job number. They get the message. "you cannot save the form with the data included. You need Acrobat pro"

I've googled the problem and it's not a security setting, it's just what reader allows users to do and not do.

Installling pro is not cost effective as they would only use Acrobat to save these files or look at pdfs.

What version of Reader are they using? Version 8 will do what they want for sure,
and it's free. Sounds like they have an older version.

I'm on 7 professional. Not sure what they are on. Will I need to uograde to 8 pro to give them the option to save or will them getting reader 8 solve it?

Reader 8 should solve it if they are being prohibited by an older version. I thought
Reader 7 had the same ability to save form data, but I can't remember.

I know it's a bit boring but, word has reasonable form tool which may work.

Don't really want to start using word again.

The acrobat reader 8 still couldn't save the filled in form. If anyone knows an alternative or plug in that would help that would be great

The person is just doing Save, right? I don't think Save As is allowed. If it's not
working something else is going on. Is it possible to post the suspect file so it
can be tested? I'd love to see it.
