Okay, I'm new to InDesign and still figuring things out.

I have a text box that is a very specific size (and I want it to remain that way). So I put some text into it, but it doesn't fill the box completely, which I would like it to. So I go to increase the leading, but it doesn't seem to accept the numbers I put in. It goes too small at 12 pts, and overflows the boxe at 13 pts.

Why can't I put in 12.5pts and have it just do that!!! Grrr.

Is there another way to exactly fit the text to a frame, without it changing the font size?

Help!

What if you set the vertical alignment to justified? That should do it.

Not sure why it's not letting you specify 12.5 as leading.

You certainly can type in your own numbers for leading! You can do up to 3 decimal places so 12.001pt would be accepted by Indesin.

Maybe post a screenshot so we can see what is going wrong?

Ms. O, are you just using the up and down arrows in the leading field, perhaps? You can actually type in a physical number (like in Quark).

Okay...that did the trick...I think. I pressed a button on the paragraph palette for "do not align to baseline grid" and it let me do it.

Yup, I typed in an exact number and it's working now (before it wasn't)! Yeah and thank you all!
