In CorelDraw, in the Views menu, there are several different ways of pre-viewing (on screen) the objects in a layout: wireframe, draft, normal, enhanced.

I know InDesign also has similar-type views, but can't find a wireframe mode. Is there such a thing in InDesign, and if so what's it called and where is it?

Thanks!

Hmmm, I don't know of a specific wireframe view, Ms. O. What are you trying to accomplish? You can choose Command or Control H to show the edges of your text, image and object frames. I don't know if that's what you mean, though.

Well, I just want to be able to see absolutely everything in the layout. I know about Ctrl-H, but for some reason, it doesn't show the edge or path of a line. When you are in a zoomed-out view, like fit to screen or 100%, I would like to see everything in wireframe, even thin or light-colored lines, which often you can't see unless you are zoomed in.

Hope that makes sense.

It does, I'm just not sure if there's a solution. Is it similar to Illustrator's Outlilne mode? I've actually looked for something like that as well and haven't found it yet.

Maybe I don't understand your question, but doesn't the regular Preview in Illustrator (ctrl + y) work?

She's asking about InDesign Fredrich, which doesn't have the similar function that Illustrator does. :)

Yes, that's exactly what I'm looking for: the same thing as Illustrator's Outline mode. Does InDesign have such a thing?

Not that I know of Ms. O. Maybe someone else has a clue. As I said, I've wanted it to, but I haven't yet found it.

I know it doesn't answer your question, but it may be relevant later if you ever decide to use it. PitStop Pro, the editing PlugIn for Acrobat Pro, has a very effective wireframe toggle view, (of the whole PDF page or doc). It's more a prepress tool, I guess, but worth knowing about. It's all $$ really...you've gotta be using it, I guess.

Hoo boy...that's pricey! I don't think I need the wireframe tool that bad! :p
